But guess modern eve community is too WoW and [insert trend of the hour here] infested and they don't know anything about the backstory or don't care it at all.

So where in the back story does it say people wear geeky sci-fi outfits? In any case in many cases eve-tech is barely ahead of the present why should the clothes be any different? |

Technology in New Eden is about 8000 years more advanced than modern technology, if we assume that spaceflight is a useful reference point for human achievement.
That in mind, the lack of holographic eye pieces, visible implants on the head proper, ect. is mega lame, and hopefully CCP will add content, preferable some of it available for moderate ISK values (350mil for a plex is more than a little too rich for a shirt or a pair of pants for me) over the coming months and years. |

While nano-tech codpieces sound cool to sci-fi nerds, they were and will forever be only worn by losers.
Good style does not fade, only the details. The pants, shirt and jacket combo has been around for hundreds of years, and there's few changes you can make without making them look utterly stupid.
And those have mostly been pushed by improvements in production technology. |

What I'm really missing from the character creation is plenty of customization. Where is all the tattoos, electronic gadgets, scars? Also think that the clothing selection is too narrow, a bit more colourfull choises thank you and also, there's really way too few hairstyles to choose from.
All the other things are all fine, but I really miss the small things that you could have on your character before. Specially loved the Minmatar big tribaltattoos to mark them out as being them and so on. Would really like if there'd be something like that implemented to the character creation again, since this is the time to make our characters, give us more customization options!

How again do futuristic clothes and hairstyles look? That said, more options would indeed be very very welcome! |

ffs people, sure the variety isnt there right now, but the framework is there, I was never expecting huge variety at the start, Im surprised some were. The game world is stable with the new functionality and I expect clothing variety and other char options will be added later. |

Bad CCP, really bad... The actual carbon human modeling is great, but the clothes and lack of any deco we had is simply too much. EVE is gone.
Awfully critical for something only a day old and in it's first iteration. Since you obviously won't be around when these avatars receive the inevitable buffs before Station-Walking.... can I have your stuff? |

More then likely we will have to pay for the sci-fi looking clothing, the clothing that would signify that you are successful and arrogant by showing this off.
Either way, I like the clothing. |

I fully agree with the initial poster.
The effort that went in to programming the ability to change some facial and body features is really lost when the primary cover and display of the avatars is the clothing for all but the closest of close-ups.
Seriously, as I wrote in another post, I cannot believe how easily satiated and entertained the majority of the Eve community is. This may speak of too many characters that were bought or traded for vs. created, or of other issues, but no populace that created and lived with their original characters for this long would be as stoned and happy with our limited choices as I've read here on the forums.
The game, and character creation, took another step backward. I see too many plastic-looking faces on avatars, and other than you just spent hours creating the look that you ended up with, I see little reason for many of us to be happy or proud with the end-product vs. what was, now that I've gone back to look at a number of old avatars, a system that I consider equal to, or above, this.

Ben DoverMiss, If you consider the old character creation process as I quote "a system that I consider equal to, or above, this". I totally disagree. I am biting my tongue right now so as not to get banned or something, that is so wrong. |

Screwing with the variety we had to offer us less, really, than we had is not any sort of improvement. For all of the time, effort, and advertising this character-creation debut was given, HOW HOW HOW can you not criticize it for all that it lacks?! No one is asking for anything much beyond at LEAST the options we have had in the past. You know what this is? WIth modern technology and programming, CCP took the easy way out again. The character creator seems high-tech, but in the computer modeling world it is merely OK. SO CCP offered it, but got really, really lazy with their own creative styles and offerings, thus we have the limited options that everyone gets to choose from. If you're really defending CCP, you've never opened your eyes to see consumerism and the corporate ability to trick many buyers over and over again. |

I do, and it may not be readily apparent for all the work some of you have put into character bodies that are inevitably covered up with the same clothing, but save for the happiness that many of you seem to have with tuning the little intricacies you have, I don't believe we have - on the whole - ended up with anything better when one looks at a large number of avatars. Of the last character I created with the old system, I pretty much was able to manipulate all of the upper-body forms just like this one. This does give us the ability to modify the torso and down, but I haven't seen how that's important, nor is it very relevant since even those options are limited (I'm sure a number of guys wanted to create themselves, but we can't make avatars as fat as many players are). Really, I see more natural-ness and at least equal individuality in the old ones. |

Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see CCP come up with an entire selection of "Fashion Accessories" and "Avatar Stuff" for online purchase when Station-Walking is released. Some "rare" items, also for avatars, incorporated into loot drops and/or LP Stores would be a massive win-win, too. |

Ben, I would say though, the character creator has its faults but I spent probably 10 hours with it creating 2 chars before I came up with this. The longer you spend with it, the more you see is possible, but sure, I want hotpants for my char asap. |

listen to this and tell me that his comments on colour fashion doesn't ring true to eves selection choices in clothing http://www.redlettermedia.com/insurrection.htmlBlacks, Browns and Beige....Earth Tones People! that's what everyone will wear in the future. Could of at least done primary/secondary channel selections to each clothing article and let players have some choice in colour. So many things missing in the new character creator and I have the sinking feeling we wont see them until CCP have finalised their micro-transaction mechanic, not to mention the additional cash charge to change your portrait. |

I agree that the unqiue looks of the four different races have been watered down, and so has the general ability to make characters that look 'out there'. Gallente in particular had lots of weird costume options, but nothing in the character creator right now comes close to resembling that. |

You can get those applications at your neighborhood home depot. You can find instructions to build your own warp capable spacecraft complete with Asgard energy weapons and shields right here. |
