How is it better than the much cheaper Medium Inefficient Hull Repair Unit??
I checked the stats and they appear the same except that the Medium Inefficient Hull Repair Unit has easier skill requirements and uses less CPU.
Cheers and TIA, Bryce. |

If you ever have the need to use a hull repairer, you're doing it wrong. |

besides repping hull when repair costs get prohibitive, yeah. hull reppers are not a combat mod, both NPC and PVP. they are an aftermath mod, when you're safely tucked in hisec and your wallet has saw better days. |

Hull tanking does not involve repairing your hull. It is a buffer-only form of tanking, with repping done afterwards. The only hull repping mod you are allowed to fly into pvp with is a remote hull repper, and only if you have exhausted all other possible alternatives to fill up said highslot and you fly in a gang on a long ops into deep hostile space (ie no stations to rep ur stuff). It will look silly on your lossmail but your "omg I has 2% hulldmg someone rep me" OCD gangmembers will love you. |

Keep those hull reppers you get from doing missions, and put them in your kit. After you've limped back to the station with x amount of hull damage, unfit your lows and put all your hull repairers in. Undock, and activate. They tend to take some time so multiple reppers will do the job quicker.
To answer your question, yes, why would anyone buy a Hull Repairer II? |

Better question: Why would anyone BUILD them? (since they're T2 they have to be manufactured by someone) |

I build them, but only coz ppl buy them at crazy prices XD The demand is there, so I may as well fill in the role of 'supply' |

The fact the meta hull reppers drop fairly frequently from NPCs and the demand for them is very small also keeps their prices way down.

Because there's a "II" in its name and you get a nice and beautiful yellow coloured T2 pip for the icon. That signifies premium stuff |

Incapped mods at POS have small amount of hull damage. Or if there was pile of bored SC pilots at it a bit more than sliver of hull damage. You will need remote hull reppers for that. Few Domis with full rack of them and few carriers feeding them cap are still pretty slow if there is any significant amount of damage to be repped. However I have never seen the use of remote hull repper that is capital size. I imagine if you would have a Titan with significant amount of hull damage ... perhaps they would be still good to have. |

There is no such thing as tech 2 remote hull repair mods, so this thread must be about the local hull ones. Still, your points are otherwise valid. |

hull reppers imo were needed and best used a few years back when "deep in null sec" really meant that as in you really living out of a POS and the rarity of outposts were quite few and jumps away if they were even controlled by your side even.
but now you'd be hard pressed to not find a friendly outpost that isn't close by. so that pretty much makes hull reppers obsolete except for a few high sec cheapskates that is. |

Never thought of this, but that is a very good point indeed. The proliferation of stations all through 0.0 has made the hull repper obsolete bar for supercapitals and stingy people that don't want to just blow up their broken pos mods. |

Well in 0.0 you may be close to an outpost, but I suppose for a wormhole POS they'd still have a use. |

I keep a Medium Hull Repairer II in my Proteus's cargohold at all times for repping any damage I might take. Of course, I have a hell of a time finding a person nice enough to let me fit it to my ship from their carrier or some such, but that's more a personal problem... |
