I'm not going to do a long post about this, or argue any points. I'm just worried, after looking at the female avatars in pics and such, that all females in this game will look way too manly. Some of them, I'd expect to actually be transvestites.

I'm not asking for make-your-own supermodel, I'd just rather not have a female avatar with manly characteristics... Anyone else worried about this?

From the looks of it, you can set things so that a female avatar can be girly or a bit on the butch side of things. Choices are good. It's also a good selling point: I know a lot of women look at some other MMOs where the female avatars are somewhat "endowed" considerably and that's a big turnoff. It's also a turnoff for the rest of us when the 12-year-olds roll female avatars and run around half dressed.

It might also be a balance for all those years Gallente males looked so effete.
(Except Intaki who look like rednecks - hence the mullets)

You might want to make your own tests on Sisi before you come out with such opinions..
From pics.. LOL

I'm worried about all the existing avatars that have hoods. I mean just look at them!

It's like they've got some kind of... some kind of cloak...

LOL way to jump to conclusions. Sisi isn't working for me right now for some reason, and back when I did try, female avatars wouldn't work. All I have to go on are the numerous pics from threads already made and given by CCP.

@Herzog, I hope there are options, but I remember a lot of people saying they were having difficulties making an avatar that didn't look like a man.

God, what is wrong with you.

The females look like REAL WOMAN.

Sorry to burst your ****ing bubble, but all the females I've shown the creator too think it looks great! in fact that are surprised how realistic the woman look.

It's men like you that think "ugh look at the girl with short hair, she looks like a dude, yuck yuck yuck.

Maybe if you stopped staring at woman's breasts you'd know what women look like. How many women do you know that you hang out with as friends on a daily basis?

or to be more fair, staring at their hair, which I have found as an artist is the number 1 reason people pick out when figuring out gender.

Here is some bald woman.

woman1

woman2

woman3

woman4

woman5

woman6

null

Maybe if you got out of your moms basement you would know that men and woman look very similar when it comes to faces, the human face is one of the last things you can use to tell a man and a woman apart.

That's why most women dress up in makeup and eye liner, to change their appearance to what we've decided is feminine.

Here is a whole site of shaving woman's heads. It's for people that want to donate their hair to charity.

you might find that wonderful lady you all hard for, suddenly looks like a dude without hair! OMG SO WEIRD RIGHT?

ignorance must be bliss... oh, I meant torture.

No I am not worried about it since I am a man and don't make female characters. I find it some kind of closet thing for guys to pretend to be female. Ther is something wrong with that.

As for troll you are very poor at it.

People who travel the world can still be ignorant.
Men and women do not look similar in the face and there are masculine and feminine characteristics that belong on one side of the fence or the other, and many that beautify either. In any case beauty is aesthetic and gender is structural. Female faces have flatter foreheads, subtle brow ridge if any, smaller finer noses and ears than the male as well as a different distribution of fat and bone density.
Makeup and eyeliner are to synthesise the hormonal effects of estrus on the eyes, cheeks and lips, a look that is inviting and arousing to males.
I lurve the new avatar images, and look forward to paying your alts to dance for me in Egbinger station.

2/10 troll for inviting opinionated folks to post and not getting countertrolled.

then explain why woman with short hair get called men all the time.

please enlighten me.

Also why are bald men and woman so hard to tell apart?

I see people at school eveyday say things like "that girls chin looks like a man" and "god her forehead is so ****ing ugly.

ignorant

edit:

sorry I do have a point.

The faces in eve, which are done by the best of the best may not look like "women" to you. but despite the fact that you might think a woman looks like man, your wrong, deal with it. Now you'll have to play a video game where 90% of the woman don't match your assumptions of female anatomy.

see I know your trollin, but that's my point. to people in iceland, they aren't manly looking, they just look manly to you because of where you grew up and what you grew up around.

did you know most people playing this game see more women through the internet than you do in real life?

true story.

Face
Its worth relating the skull differences just described to the face. Unfortunately for the transsexual woman, the human eye and brain is amazingly able to distinguish between a "male" face and a "female" face on the basis of very minor differentiations and indications.

However, as ever, there is great variance - many handsome actors on close examination have some feminine facial characteristics, while many supermodels have some very male characteristics.

In absolute measures almost all dimensions of the female skull and face are smaller compared to the male features. The facial width is relatively larger in women than in men. Resulting contours are therefore more rounded in females, especially in the orbital area, with more prominent malar (cheek) bones and less prominent mandibular (chin/jaw) angles.

Lots of reasons, people like to pigeon hole, it goes against the stereotype that women have long hair, people like to pick out 'differences' real or perceived to pick on other people, etc.

On bald men/women I'd say it has to do with many people being 'lazy' in their perceived perceptions of male/female traits such as can be expected and those that lie within the randomness of genetics. It is 'easier' to say certain hairstyles are 'male' and others are 'female' we use those to save processing time and scrutiny on making those judgements on sex which if all people were bald more accuracy would be expected, IMO anyway, when making those male/female calls.

exactly, thank you.

what I'm saying is the OP is pigeon holing the woman made using the new creator due to this.

Most woman have a wide jaw, or a big nose. I know men with sloped forehead, and women with a straight up forehead.

If everyone was bald as you say, then this wouldn't be an issues, as it's easy to tell gender apart if you've been doing life drawing for 78 years, I expect it would be like that for everyone.

There are no one size fits all rules for facial make up between men and women. It depends alot on ethnic background. I can usually pick tell the difference between a man and a woman just from by looking at their faces, but not always. The differences are subtle and not at all consistant. Smaller noses? Really? Not as a rule. Many men consider a smaller nose to be more attractive, but it's definately not a universal "female" trait. A woman with a prominent or distinct nose can be very beautiful.

I have noticed that most women have a more delicate chin and/or jaw then a man of similar linage, but that's about as far as I'm willing to go.

I think they did a fine job with the new generation system. They went for realistic rather then fantasy or cartoon.
