You all at CCP are liars. You say eve is a harsh universe. You say survival of the fittest is the rule. That the winner takes all. That the most ruthless and powerful lead. But I call BS.

Exhibit 1: the ninja... the most pussified player in the game. The guy that can barely fly a destroyer and won't pvp to save his life. The guy that never risks a single hundredth of an isk. The guy that's been training for maybe two weeks. Yet he's free to swoop in and collect the most valuable loot in someone else's level four mission. Rewards he couldn't hope to reap on his own. Free to cause harm to other players, with npc protection I'll add. No danger of reprisal. So tell me how this fits in with a free for all, cut throat pvp game based on ship combat?

There should be consequences for negative actions. For the ninja, there are none. There is absolutely no reason to not ninja someone else's loot. Why is this CCP?

Or you could get a salvager of your own and leave no wrecks behind. Huh, thinking is fun.

Maybe you should man up, get out of your mission hub, periodically place locator agents on him and go gank him (suicide or not) when he is in a ship he values.

Oh wait, you are a hypocrite, disregard.

However, ignoring the ******ation of someone who missions at a mission hub and refuses to consider moving elsewhere to avoid the ninja salvagers calling the ninja salvagers pussies, this is just another reason why the bounty system need to be fixed.

Jeebus, not this crud again.... grow up and stop crying. There are so many ways to avoid ninja salvagers, they have been posted time and time again, but still people come here crying about this.

Seeing as we havent had any GM quotes posted in here, I will add one that you really need to read!

I will give you something that the mission running players can do to lover the ammount of ninja salvagers in Eve....

STOP POSTING ABOUT IT!

Seriously, a percentage of ninjas do it for the tears and whine. You just filled the cup with your post.

If there were no more posts about it and no tears in public channels in game, then I guarentee there will be a reduction on the number of people ninja salvaging.

To be quite honest, its posts like yours that make me want to give ninja salvaging a try!

EVE is a harsh universe? Sure.

Survival of the fittest? Most certainly.

Winner takes all? In some circumstances.

The most ruthless and powerful lead? Definitely not.

You don't have to take control through brute force.

A cloaky ship in a 0.0 alliance's ratting system can bring activity to a halt as the residents dock up, log off and sit at their POS, waiting for the potential threat to subside. A spy hiding among the ranks of a corporation could lay quiet for months, just waiting for the chance to tackle a friendly supercap, make a huge corp theft or provide valuable intel to the spy's handler.

Do either of the above examples involve brute force? Definitely not!

Don't think that big guns make you a big man. The beauty of EVE is that you don't have to have big guns to take control. Intelligence, wit, patience and a good plan can lead to glory, victory and wealth without having to fire a single shot. If you haven't realised that yet, you need to seriously take another look at the game you're playing!

And the consequence of being a ninja salvager is that there is a huge opportunity cost to ninja salvaging, if all they do is salvage. They could likely make a lot more ISK (in the long term) if they train up to fly a PvE ship and run the missions themselves. As soon as they loot wrecks, the ISK they make will increase substantially, but they become a target for your guns. That's what most ninja salvagers want you to do ...

That long term plan doesn't net you anything while your still new at the game. New players need income to buy skillbooks and new ships.
Also, without the mission runners, you can kiss goodbye to all the Navy stuff everyone loves to buy like Imperial Navy Armor Reppersor Federation Magnetic Field Stabilizers. These items take LOYALTY POINTS, which are only obtainable through mission running and isk/items/tags to purchase.

On the other hand, for TOROTHANAX, you could use something smaller than a Battleship as most ninjas only probe for that size ship, sometimes Battlecruisers (get a strat cruiser, they do level 4s just fine and mostly likely wont be on a probers list).
DON'T destroy Sentry Guns and Sentry Towers in missions. If a salvager comes in to a room you have left and the gun towers are still there, he will bug out fast because he will be targeted and blown up real quick. (for example, room 3 of angel extrav.)

One more thing. The mission with the Pleasure Gardens. Let a ninja salvager get close to that, blow it up, and the explosion takes him out too, and you don't get Concorded for it.

I will just leave this here.

Anyone is free to scan me down while I'm running missions, and violence my wrecks with your salvagers.

If you'd like to be my pet garbage disposal feel free to convo or mail me and next time I'm mission whoring for ISK, you can tag along. I'll even abandon the wrecks so you can tractor them.

Someone who's been playing for less then a month flies something worth ganking?

I mission is a system with maybe 40 people average. I've had to relocate at least 8 times in the last 4 1/2 years. Why should I be the one to have to keep moving? I don't even mission all that often. I hate the boredom. And ninja only lengthen the process. The one reason I run missions is to fund pvp. I'm rather good at stretching my isk so I can spend most of my game time out in the war zone. Occasionally though I have to run missions and sometimes I get sent to a nearby semi populated system after I've already turned down a mission. Like around 100 people in local. That's not exactly a mission hub is it? I don't get to exactly get to pick where my missions are do I?

I don't mission in a hub. I mission in a battle ship that is rather uncommon for mission. I pop my wrecks if anyone shows up. They still get any and all salvage in the early rooms, AND if it's faction navy or drones I'm killing, I lose out on the tags/drone poo. I have to shoot myself in the foot to deter someone I should just be able to shoot at. Plus they get to annoy me. Why are we coddling these people?

I say again, there needs to be a down side to ninja salvaging. A reason to not do it.

Oh noez someone "stole" worthless junk from you!

Most of the time I have found I can make money faster by not salvaging and just blowing through missions for bounties/LP. If a ninja comes in my mission I don't mind because they are taking junk I don't want anyway. I even get a good laugh when they try to bait me into attacking them.

If I do want to salvage, I salvage at the same time as I am running the mission, so if a ninja warps in, they will see few or no wrecks and just warp off.

This just shows your ignorance of Ninjas. There are a large number of ninja salvagers who want you to shoot them, so that they can then get a pvp ship and kill you.

I considered not saying this so that you would learn the hard way and then make an emo-rage thread, Which I would then post 'lol' in, but I knew someone was going to say this anyway, so it might as well have been me. Very Happy

Also- by becoming a mission runner you lose all rights & privileges to whine about others making isk without effort or risk.

So, if "there is absolutely no reason to not ninja someone else's loot" why are you not a ninja? It is clearly the best way to make money, after all. Here's a suggestion: stop crying, start shooting. Use your own ship, or a better-fitted PVP ship, or an alt, or corp-mates (as theft aggresses the thief to your whole corp).

Or you can proceed with your bearing and get a fully fit battleship in the time the ninja gets an assault frigate.

Wy do you care about ninjas?

Most of them dont care about your stuff they want your agression to come back with theyre super gank cane&boy friends to blow your battleship (laughable this one)

Great you just gave him his sexual fun, your killmail Laughing

Dont care about junk, play the game and if your smart enough sometimes youll loot theyre salvagers/sisters probe. Just learn how to do it.

And if you can' well let him do, let him loose his precious time, he's loosing your kilmail or another ones, this will get him frustrated enough to get out.

Jerk is jerk, nothing that you can do will change that.Wink

I agree. Ninja salvaging is PvP. All forms of PvP should be counterable. Only ninja salvaging is not counterable. Should be flagged just like other forms of PvP. I like short sentences.

For the record, I like the guys that come in and flag themselves. I get a cheap easy kill and then we both come back in pvp ships and I usually get another kill. Breaks up the boredom of mission running. It's the free loading cowards that haven't payed thier dues that **** me off.

I really am halfway on the Ninja Salvager debate.

I get the idea; You can't make claim to garbage. Except, you know, it really isn't garbage. Often times the salvage of a battleship is worth more than the bounty and the module drops combined. Saying it takes "specialized equipment and skills" is pretty weak too considering that the prerequisites for a salvager are paltry, not to mention the salvagers themselves are dirt cheap. Hell, I'm not even sure if salvaging skills increase the quality of the salvage you get outside of T2 wrecks; I'm pretty sure they just decrease the time it takes.

You know what I'd be in favor of? Making salvaging a "looting crime", but letting ninja salvagers use tractor beams on wrecks that aren't theirs. Now that, that I could approve of! Hell, I might get into ninja salvaging myself in that were the case. But otherwise, saying that mission runners should "man up and accept ninjas" is the same argument as saying that ninja salvagers should "man up and take a looting flag". One alternative does not gain precedence over the other simply because it's the current state of affairs. Judge everything on its own merits.
