I left WoW because it's a game for immature people who have no patience or creativity. EVE gave me a game where patient, mature players can play in a sandbox where things are difficult, life is unscripted, and you have to be an admirable person in order to succeed.
If that ever changes, I will quit EVE without batting an eye.

I've often noticed that people who concern themselves with maturity are the ones most lacking in that quality. This is why teenagers are so obsessed with it. |

You'll find that Eve's community happens to be every other MMO's community.
Frankly, WoW GD is looking a lot more mature than EvE's for the last few months.

I wish you didn't lie :( Would be good to be able to buy/obtain a retinue to enhance your walk in station avatar - T2 heavy body guards x2, mid range bimbos "do you come with the car? oh you! he-he-he" x2, T3 man servant (gofer) x1 etc I enjoyed WoW, but the choice of been here wins (though I seem to be playing EVE FORUMS more than EVE Online lately :S). Everything is childish, no one ever really grows up - all just an illusion of maturity. The most mature sounding people are probably politicians using language as a means of confusing, manipulating and most importantly avoiding answering simple questions :) Sounds pretty childish. blah blah blah. |

I just remembered the most important part about adult atmosphere:
Star wars online ( cant remember the exect name) MMO was something similar in terms of depth to EVE on line but myabe a bit lighter, then the idiots devs decided to make it main stream PG rated piece of crap and you know what happened? wait for it, wait for it ..... it went completedtly barren after 1-2 month of the *new better easier PG rated sisy catering to idk 10 yo boys that can barely wipe their butts ;P*

Adults are the only ones who can last in EVE. You have to undertand the irrelevance of time and be able to say "it will come" and most of all you have to be able to accept almost irreplacable loss and despair. |

WoW seems like it has a more mature and more intelligent audience I've found than EVE Online does, this may be because WoW more or less lets you associate with who you want to since most activities are limited to 5, 25, or 40 players and moving around guilds isn't particularly difficult. Since EVE is a giant mixing pot, the loudest/most annoying personalities shine.
Hell, the "Pandemic Legion" occurred because Shamis's best buddy Mulla Nasrudin got banned from EVE for hacking/hijacking Band of Brothers forums, so sniggerdly stopped being a pirate corp to a "WE ARE ANGRY AT BoB BECAUSE" alliance. A giant force was spawned because some angry immature dude went off on some hate crusade.
EVE would be stale and boring if everyone was "patient and mature". And I'm not sure what game you've been playing; take one look at the forums and you'll see that the majority of replies tend to be along the lines of "U MAD?" and other such fun responses. |

SLOW DOWN. Even people under 35 turn out to have an imagination. Its just that those kids play with lego's instead of EVE. Then they discover Eve, then, (due to not having encountered the shortly mentioned problem), they will be stubborn because in real life they didn't run into a big wall yet. So respect the youth, theres games all over that welcomes them and their creativity with open arms. But, I have to admit, creativity with ship fitting is a bad idea (unless you mean officer/deadspace creativity with isk ). |

ehh... I like complete sentences that offer salient points and you find that a lot more here than in many other MMO's. That and extremely few "tldr" style replies to single paragraph statements. WoW? ... As for the rest... Even in WoW you can find the "mature, intelligent" groups if you look. The same goes with EVE. If you've run out of them, that's a sign you may want to go corporation shopping. |

Eve is 12+. If you are looking for a more adult and mature atmosphere, why not play Diablo 2, which is 16+? |

Fix'ed, it is not just forums. People in general laugh joke and kid around. Wanting them to conform to a single idea of maturity is the biggest joke of all and you don't get that in EVE.
It is a universe for anyone and a Sandbox to express idea's and opinions. Other games have it to and if you don't like the human element you won't like open multiplayer games at all.
Omg, I am laughing so hard :P HAHAHAHA But to the op: "...and you have to be an admirable person in order to succeed..." That made me laugh. Eve has zero accountability, its generally the least admirable that has the upperhand in Eve. Scammers, cleaning corps of their assets, ruining other peoples day for a laugh are a few examples. |

Yes, you have to be an admirable person to become a suicide ganker with a ship named "jihad" Go back to stormwind city and think about your fail logic. |

I'm not sure what game you joined after leaving WOW but from your description of the player base it sure isn't EVE?
Actually from my experience of MMOs over the years, which is quite a few MMOs he's not describing any of them. Even Aoc +18 game failed in the maturity stakes. |

Thats because it would had been labelled as "adult 18+" which means the shops wouldn't have been able sell the game from a shelf at all. This ofc. would had been a financial and marketing disaster. For some reason advertising the same non existent "mature content" on play boy isn't, then everyone at funcrom was like surprised when the players we're disappointed and left the game. |

I'm thirty(mumble)something... and don't log in to be a mature individual in the slightest. Alliance members hear I'm over 30 and are frequently surprised. I'm here for a video game. To be less mature than I should be IRL. Keep EVE a video game. CCP Devs, please keep trolling your player base. NEVER STOP POSTING! Furthermore, next time CCP gets dec'd, I would hope that they could put a fleet of rifters together and undock for a fight. |
