You know why ninja films were funny ? Not because they are funny but because they are so bad it's pure comedy.
This film tries the same with gazillion $ budget, unfortunately a big budget does not a funny movie make. |

It wouldn't work as well, since Arnold isn't funny and red sonya and the conan sequel were almost parodies already being so cheesy and over the top. On a second though it would make a perfect legitimate sequel and provide loads of unintentional humo(u)r. I think Akita really nailed it. It looks and feels really close to a typical roleplaying session and the banter between the players transformed to the big screen. Such sessions are truly funny and enjoyable even for outsiders, so it can potentially be a very funny movie. Or a huge pile of horrible **** depending on the execution. |

Reminds me of The Gamers and The Gamers 2 : Dorkness Rising... both really low budget, but quite entertaining nevertheless. So yeah, it will depend a lot on the actual execution, and the trailers are seldom a good enough indicator for that... |
