There are no US States with a Value Added Tax (VAT). All states have a sales tax (that may seem similar to a VAT but works slightly differently) that is imposed on all in-state transactions. Some states require (by law) that sales tax be paid on all transactions done by the resident of that state, but the resident is the person resposible for the reporting of the transaction. |

Well... there's certainly a fairly laid-back attitude to law enforcement here, and a glamourisation of criminal notoriety too. And definitely an ambivalence regarding the amount of power our elected governments have over our lives here. Also, on our Commonwealth Coat of Arms we have two animals, the Kangaroo and the Emu. If you want to see them, you could drive for a day and a half to the Outback. Or, you could go eat at any top restaurant and have both of them on your plate. Emu is a bit meh, but Kangaroo is om nom nom yummy. Definitely try it if you ever get the chance. Not many places in the world that will let you eat their national symbols  We're a friendly bunch though - I promise you that we don't gank visitors as they step out of the airport  |

What are the hurdles in the way of buying GTCs with dollars and applying them to your account or turning them into plex then activating?
I guess this is a bigger question than paying for Eve. Can europeans (or tongans or people from Somalia) use a credit card or money transfer to fund a pay-pal account with dolars the use the pay-pal account to make purchases from US companies with dollars as if they were an american? |

This is something new since november. Before that i could have choosen to pay in € or$.

Basicaly, 12 months of GTCs (6 of them) is 210$. USD cost of yearly subsciption is 131$. USD cost of paying in € is 179.78$ Some cards allow transfer of money all around. The main issue is that if you are in Europe, CCP checks IP and allows only option to pay for subs in €. They dont allow you the option to pay by your choice. |

I guess they have their own database of where you are from.
Because using proxy didnt allow me to pay in USD,
as well as changing country in my description AND using proxy.
If anyone can show me the way around it, it would be much appreciated. |

Shattered Crystal... the best service I have ever experiences when buying game time. They even allow you to pay through Western Union. I love them and anyone whining about exchange rate, their bankrupt valuta and their non-existent value of currency need to go to Shattered Crystal and buy their game time there.
Other option is to shoot those idiots in power, who're more than willing to hand over your money to the oil, health, insurance and military industry, rather than do useful things with them. But it always goes like this:
"Should we spend money on bombing people who hate us for killing their children and families or education?"
"LOLeducation, screw those poor noobs."

I see you don't know how VAT is calculated. Even assuming that VAT was 20% in all the European countries (not true), £ 111.36/120*100=92,80 (that is the right way to calculate it). So the difference is 18,56 £ or 21,85 €. Note that the USA have a sales tax, the trick is that when they buy something in one state from another state (like in most internet transactions) it is not included in the transaction but instead the buyer should compute it in his tax form at the end of the year. Most US residents "forget" that little thing and cheat the state. |
