After downloading the last patch for T v1.1, I've been experiencing a crash that shuts down my entire computer:

1. While playing the game, the screen freezes. No actions can be taken in-game.

2. The screen then resizes to something akin to 640x800 (mouse icon becomes about 1.5 inches across, windows "explode" to a huge size and mangle the screen.) No actions can be taken in-game.

3. Pressing Alt+Tab to switch out to Windows, I get a blank black screen with a cursor blinking in the upper left-hand corner.

4. I have to manually turn off the computer by pressing and holding the power button until it shuts down; afterwards, I restart the computer.

I have run a diagnostic check on my computer (an older Dell XPS 410 machine) and nothing seems to be wrong with it. When not playing Eve, I have no problems with the computer; however, this has happened to me five (5) times while playing Eve: twice while mining, once while retrieving jet cans, once while docking, and once while in station.

Has anyone else been experiencing this problem? How were you able to fix it?

When I get home from work this afternoon, I'll post up my system specs--if they are important/necessary to the issue.

Thanks.

Sounds driver (specifically graphic driver) related. Have you tried downloading new graphic drivers? If so, did you uninstall the old ones first? If you have the latest drivers, how about uninstalling them and going back to a previous version. Does that work?

Failing that, try reinstalling DirectX. Failing that, find the latest motherboard drivers for your model and download those

If all of that doesn't work come back and give us some more specifics (windows version and graphics card in particular)

Thank you for the advice. I'll check the drivers when I get home this evening and see if they are the most up-to-date. I'll also post specs, regardless of what happens. It may be that I have to do a little updating to the old machine... it is 4+ years old and running on all OEM with the exception of the HDD.
