What PvP ships should NOT be fitted with this module (apart from some frigates). I can't think of any.

All I can think of is your fully passive tanked Drake and Nighthawk.

Ships in gangs that HEAVILY rely on remote repping may not want those, actual armor resists will help you more than a damage control if they're not too heavily stacked.
Though if you can't 100% rely on your remote reppers, a damage control is probably better even then.

Edit: also some ewar ships at range and snipers, obviously.

Mostly shield ones that have terrible hull ehp or have good enough shield buffers without one that would benefit more from damage mods (3 damage mods, 2 tracking enhancers as a max generally).

Ultimately you are choosing between fitting a dc or extra damage. I can't think of an example where I would fit anything over a dc except for improved dps.....

A common exception is when armour tanking perma tank PVE setups but even then I would personally to use a dc over a second eanm just for those ohshiiiii moments.

DCU 2 on everything unless you are out of cpu. Then fit a meta 3 dcu:D.

I suppose I should have simplified and said start your EFT warrioring with a suitcase and leave it there till the ship is fitted. Only then play around to see if you can live without it or swapping it over gives a significant advantage

Always consider the advantage it gives when your tank breaks and you need to GTFO or survive a little longer.

Not many? There's a few fleet inties I don't place it on, because if they're going to die they're going to die, no way around it.

As to every cruiser and above... I don't know? I've either won, or escaped, so many fights in structure that I consider it a quintessential module for nearly every thing.

Any carebear ship Smile Many shieldtank ships. Ninja snipers w/o tank.

Also there are lots of ships which can be gitted with a DCU and may be not. For exanple, I'd personally prefer x2 Gyro x2 TE x1 Nanofiber in vaga lowslots... or even x3 Gyro - x2 TE.

There are some PvE ships where I have run the EANM II over the DCII. The DCII will generally give you better EHP, but actually lowers your tanking ability on cap stable repped ships.

Outside of passive shield tanks or some frig hulls I see little reason not to run one in PvP. The DCII is the best way to up your ehp in the game.

Freighters. Razz

But seriously, most shield-tanked ships can find better stuff to fit there (SPR for PvE, damage or speed mods for PvP). Industrial ships will fit extra cargo space or warp stabs instead. Some armor tanked ships (especially native shield tanks refitted to armor tank) will be better off with an EANM or a specific resist, especially in fleets where hull HP is irrelevant. Small stuff (frigates, destroyers) don't have enough lows to fit a DC.

In most cases on cruiser hull and bigger, i would fit to most ships. i have a few shield tanked ships that are the exception such as my onyx and curse. I usually fit to drakes and almost always to fleet fits.

I dont fly frigs but i doubt their would be many frig hulls i would fit to as well. To little extra EHP from a dcu. and to few low slots on a frig. OD or such would probably be more useful.

some shield recons and other T2/faction cruisers are entirely viable without DC's. Since in many cases they are sporting LSE's, the ehp increase from a DC is negligible compared to a pds.
Edit* dc would be better in most cases, however my point was in many T2 cruisers, the ehp increase is at times not worth giving up a lowslot.

Snipe cerb, maybe?

Rook definitely. I guess Falcon as well.

But any Battlecruiser+ hull should always have a DCU IMO.

There is no ship that SHOULD NOT fit a DC, there are ships that MAY NOT fit DC due to the intended fole fitting. Else DC is one of the most vaulable modules there is.

Damage control resists don't stack with resists from other modules, which is why they're really good even on active tanked ships.

Strategic cruisers. Between their lolworthy structure hit points, lack of shield/armor subsystem bonuses to hull, and the absurd resists that T3 ships have to offer, our favorite T2 suitcase is rarely actually worth bringing along

Fit a HAM-Buffer legion some time. Notice how little the DC2 actually offers compared to a 2nd EANM.
