I don't really think i have to tell you that eve is in possibly the worst state it has ever been in. Over the last couple of months an estimated 5% - 10% of all players have stopped playing eve, countless alliances and posts back up these figures, including my own alliance. The un-believably boring, click intensive, carpal tunnel inducing worthless waste of space that was the planetary interaction patch has shattered our faith in CCP's ability to produce entertaining game content, along with the soon to be epic failure of dust 514 which yet again nobody wanted. One of the latest running problems is "the patch to fix the patch to fix the patch that didn't actually do anything apart from screw up EVERYTHING".

Nearly everything from pos functions, PI, industry, market displays and even local channels have been effected by this "simple patch", it makes me feel like CCP is actually TRYING to crash eve.

The complete balls up that is the PI system and the other overpowers factors of the economy has caused a complete market crash with nearly every commodity on the market falling in price. Coolant, which has been some what appointed as the bench mark for pos fuel has dropped 40% over the last month on a steady decline and with every day industrialists fighting to break even, the invention industry also broken and ore prices going through the floor, it seems that eve is in a deep depression.

In turn this will mean people who normally run on plexs will find it increasingly hard to do this and may also leave the game.

There are countless ways in which eve is going down the drain, i can't possibly name them all. But what i think the big questions are right now are...

When (and indeed if) EvE will crash?

Where will the eve players go?

And is there anything CCP can possibly do to break a little life back into eve?

Anyone care to take a friendly bet?(PS I'm not accepting your worthless eve credits Razz).

Well you don't really have to estimate. There are statistics on the active users for the past year. Check them and see how they were october last year to see whether people have stopped playing eve.

So PI is not perfect not really but it crashed the market with everything dropping? Looked at robotics late? They are through the roof o.O

And tbh I can't say invention is broken I still can make plenty of isk with it.

CCP just think there big enough now to just take no notice of the people that helped build this game in the first place.

there costumer support is a joke now standard copy and paste for petitions, there HTFU attitude is costing them maybe only slowly atm but it will start to go down hill fast

as a player of 6 years i think CCP has had there last out off me

Awesome news!

This just means when I am rich enough to found my own gaming company, I can simply steal all the great concepts from EVE and present it in a much more user-friendly UI, remove all the micromanagement crap, get rid of the lag, and cash in on the blood and tears of CCP.

???

Profit Cool

I wouldn't be surprised if we had a plateu or a dip in subscribers during this time. We haven't seen interesting gameplay additions in some time, performance had been going down hill for some time and is still below what it used to be, patches break more than they fix, intorduction of microtransactions and loads of new MMOs coming to market or coming soon. Loads of negatives pushing things down and little to be optimistic about. Good time to take a break or leave for a while and see if the grass really is greener elsewhere.

On the positive side there isn't a serious long term competitor to EVE at the moment. There are loads of games now and coming soon that I will try, but nothing even attempts to offer what EVE does and EVE's fundamentals are still there. EVE should be fine if CCP doesn't go bat**** insane with their microtransactions cash grab or manage to really break the game with their future expansions and ignore player requests for fixes.

Even if it's true, it's only natural for a company to have plateaus or even regressions over its lifetime.

But, for a portion of a playerbase to say that it is due to the company not implementing their favorite pet project; that is deceptive at best. Many things cause players to stop playing.
And if it is due to the game getting a bit buggier from time to time, then good ridance. All "living" software will eventually have issues with being a bit buggy a times. If they can't hack it, they should find something else to play.

No company in its right mind would start catering to the loudest voices on their forums. The reason the forums are the way they are today is most likely due to some players thinking that if they cry loud enough they will get what they want. IE, "...if you don't do this, me with my 10 alts and my 100 friends with their 10 alts will quite...."
Kind of childish to be honest. But maybe somewhat expected when you consider the minium age required to play Eve.

Pretty much that right there.

OP:
We get it, you don't like PI. Tough. Some people do.
You don't like Dust? Tough, start working for CCP to influence what products they're making.
You don't understand what CCP is trying to with all of these patches. It's called code refactoring. I'd ask you to read and educate yourself, but considering you haven't done that yet, I don't have much hope.
In short, Eve is fine, I hope you do quit; but we all know you wont.

Any company that just gave people what they wanted, would be out of business pretty damn quick. Business is founded on making people want what you give them.
