I just bought a new TV and im planning on hooking it up to my second dvi port on my graphics card now i know i can view the same screen on my monitor and my tv but i was wondering if it was possible to say play eve on the tv (fullscreen) and watch a movie on the monitor at the same time.

It is easily done.

One way to do it is to tell Windows to use multiple monitors.

Another way is to tell graphics card accessory program (ATI Catalyst, nVidia Control Panel) to use multiple monitors.

Quite frankely there is no difference in the display quality of a modern lcd tv with pc/dvi/hdmi port vs a pc only lcd monitor. Hell in most cases you can get superiour performance out of a top quality tv than say an apple or hp 30" panel. My 42" LG panels sport 1920x1080 with a rather nice 120hz refresh and an uber ghost free 2ms responce time. Granted at the time I bought them they cost $1100 each and are now going for under $800 with a faster 240hz refresh for the new epeen 3-d movies but I don't care as they still look totally devine. ugh
