VERY RECENTLY A CERTAIN PERSON QUIT EVE DUE TO EXTREME BITTERNESS ABOUT THE GAME AND GETTING PSYCHOLOGICALLY OWNED HARD CORE BY A VERY CUNNING PLAYER. THEY STATED THEY HAVE ONLY BEEN PLAYING THE LAST YEAR OR MORE FOR THE SOCIAL ASPECT AND HAVE NOW THROWN THAT AWAY IN THE PROCESS.
NOW I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A SOCIAL GAME BUT TO TOSS AWAY YOUR ONLY FRIENDS BECAUSE YOU WERE BESTED IS GOING A BIT EXTREME. I WAS WONDERING IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE OUT THERE THAT PLAYS THIS GAME JUST FOR THE SOCIAL ASPECT BUT DOES THAT MEAN THEY ALSO ONLY HAVE FRIENDS ON INTERNET SPACESHIP GAMES?
ONLY HAVING FRIENDS THREW INTERNETS IS NOT EXACTLY HEALTHY SO WILL INCARNA PROVIDE A MORE DEEP FRIEND ASPECT TO THE GAME IN A HEALTHY WAY OR DO YOU THINK WE WILL SEE MORE EMO RAGE QUITS FROM THE GAME TO SPEND $45 IN OTHER ASPECTS TO MAKE UP FOR HOLE THEY HAVE LEFT WHERE THEIR INTERNET SPACESHIP FRIENDS USED TO BE? |

Using all bold caps plus using terms like hardcore and owned does not make you cool mmkay? And if your friend falls out with someone in real life due to a computer game they need to take a good long look at their priorities and probably step away from the game to be honest. Having only internet based friendships to depend on is also not healthy. Get out and meet some people face to face. |

Yeah, it will be oh so much better if my "virtual" friends have "virtual" avatars. Our "virtual" relationship(s) will be so much more fulfilling as we are flying around the universe (or walking in stations) and trying to kill other "virtual" players (or getting killed by them, which is more likely in my case).  Incarna will solve all our social problems (unless you've skipped all those Social skills) ? How is having a virtual avatar going to provide a "deep friend aspect" ? Probably 3/4s (or more) of the male players are going to use sexy female avatars just as they use regular female 'toons now. Unless you know people in RL that are playing the game, or speak to other players on Vent (et al), you're never going to really "know" who is behind that avatar. And taking $45 that would have been spent on EVE and using it to "fill the hole" where their internet friends used to be ? Well, in Thailand I could fill a couple holes with that, for a couple hours at least (wouldn't even have to leave the bar I own). Oops, time to go out and socialize with some "non-virtual" friends (ugh). Hope your armor is tanked, your crystals aren't cracked and local isn't spiking ! |

Oh please. You know what's healthy? Doing what makes one happy. Friends in real life are just as healthy/unhealthy as in a game. Obviously you've never had a real life friend commit suicide, steal your girlfriend, betray your trust, join the crowd to tease you, etc, etc, etc.....wow....it's starting to sound a lot like Eve, ain't it? WELL I AM STILL HERE PLAYING. HE HOWEVER HAD HIS GAME CONTROLLED TOO MUCH BY ME AND WENT BACK TO WOW. PVP IS EASIER THERE I AM TOLD SO HE WILL SAVE LOTS OF MONEY BY NOT HAVING TO BUY A LOT OF TISSUES.  |
