You dumb jackass. That's what the testserver is for, trying out new methods that might improve the game, and, for that matter, this is really improving the game, and the testserver is giving them a chance of testing it, before they launch out a new patch that screws everyone else up. The fact that the testserver is working, is a good sign. That means they've identified the possible problem, and a solution is under way.
Calm the **** down a bit.
CALM DOWN??? heres afew ??? for you 1 have you been able to play the game for the past 8 days after the patch? 2 did you just drop for 3 months of subs on a game you haven't played in 8 days 3 do you have a real nice gameing pc that was built to play eve with full effects on that is now siting wasted and your forced to log on a 7 yearold pc just to set skills giveing all thats went on i think im real calm i pay to play the game just like you that gives me the right to gripe my now 4cents worth |

Lol? It's been almost 2 days since the Singularity fix. And we pay $15 a month to play this game in which we now can not play. And there shouldn't BE a need to test **** AFTER THE PATCH comes out because, guess what, that's what the test center is FOR. Testing before something comes out so we don't wait 8 days. I dunno about you, but it takes me about an hour to make a mill, so time is money. And my training queue ran out last night, so I am losing money AND training time. I'm not saying they should stop working on the testcenter at this point. But they should make sure a patch will for everyone before they deploy it, and roll back the version if it fails. |

m8 they should rollback the server, then fix the current patch on the test server. Makes much more sense. |

If you can handle their jobs better than CCP do, perhaps you should request a position over at their HQ, as a person with high responsibilities? We'll see how good you'll manage. |

Your logic is flawed, my friend. This shouldn't EVER happen because they should extensively test a patch on many different computers to ensure maximum compatibility BEFORE they release it. And now, by not rolling back the version, have caused at least a thousand people to not be able to play the game. If your so confident in them, then please share the reason why this topic has even gotten to 4 pages. Should have never started. |

I still cannot log into the game since the patch. I did have some emails between me and a seinor dev, however havent heard back from him/her in a few days. Even when I asked if there had been any update.
Seems not enough in house testing was done before this patch. Odd CCP have a "test server" yet very little is even tested on it, apart from "gf fights in shiney ships, to fix lag" whats the point in fixing lag if you cannot even log into the game?
I done my own thing, i made a computer from the spare parts i got laying about, its running windows xp and just bearly runs eve its not playable least i can log into the game and get my skill ques moving again. Until, should the day come this nonsense is fixed. |

Internal testing in addition to player feedback on the fix has been very promising and I'm trying to find out when we can get this onto Tranquility. |

hahahahahaha. . . Extensive testing on every variety of computers that the 300k or whatever subscribers use ha ha... Have any of you trolls programmed anything more complicated then a VCR? If the answer is no then pretty please go troll somewhere else. If the answer is yes then shame on you, you should know better.
If you need more explanation, try reading a 1 million page choose your own adventure book with multiple looping subplots where you have to choose the correct choice in your adventure for hundreds of choices in a row. That is what troubleshoot and finding bugs is like in large code bases.
Thank you devs for fixing the test server, I really appreciate it and all the work you do. Take your time I would rather a stable patch that allows me to play. I for one am here to stay, 6 month sub already paid for on my main. |

Well the hunt should be a tad bit easyer for CCP since they hid the needle with the last patch |

Sub-par troll attempt. I have coded many gaming servers such as SWGEmu, Runescape, World of Warcraft, and a few little dinky projects back in the day. I know there is never going to be a patch that comes out where everyone can successfully install it and have it work. That is just a fact of online video games. HOWEVER. Since the problem was fixed on the test server about 2 days ago, that means the problem was there BEFORE the patch went live to TRANQUILITY. SO! The patch shouldn't have been released until almost all people who actually test could log onto the test server. And yes, testing on various systems. I know there are too many different types of computer to test them all, but at least but 10 or 20 majorly different computer and make sure it runs on all of them, and not just the dev computer which I am guessing to be all the same type or Dell or Mac. Companies don't usually put in buy orders for all different machines. They usually buy a lot of the same type, which usually saves money. But the one thing that can shoot down any rebuttal you have is this: day 9. GG |

Not training now on one of my accounts for 5 days - really sucks - good thing the other accounts all have 30+ day skill in queue - looking forward to a fix and hopeing for some sort of skill point compensation for lost time.

RARARAW U CANT DO THIS, BACK IN MIE DAY, Uphill BOTH WAYS jesus comon you real wives of eve online, stop making drama where none is needed. I agree that CCP should roll back the main server, then fix the test server, then move forward from there. I also agree it is hard to find problems in python code.
What i do also know is CCP has a history of :ccp: its customers, especially when a brand new game they are putting out is 10x^1000000 more fun. I believe that their current outlook is to attract 20 noobs than keep 6 veterans. Its just business, but in the end i think the loyal ones will stay loyal, and eve has one hell of a curve. Take from that wall of text what you want. |

I think we should get 500 sp for every hour we couldn't have played. So since it's day 10, that would be 120,000 SP.

I've been having same issue. I've tried disabling services, reinstall directx, vcredist, nvidia drivers. Nothing worked. So i've cleaned up 1 partition and made another windows 7 x64 install on it with just: - directx ( from the eve setup ) - latest nvidia drivers - firefox , msn It works under that windows . So now I got dual boot, but at least I can play. |

On top of needing a refund of SP for the amount of time between the release of that patch and the release of the fix, of course CCP needs to refund the money that has been drawn from our accounts, without delivery of the service we pay for.
Spending a week to fix a crash is also totally unacceptable in the software industry. A crash is by definition an obvious bug to find, if not to fix.
I am astonished at the silence from CCP in this particular matter.

No it's not. It's a very common thing to do in computing, and it's called debugging. The good part of this industry compared to the average farmer losing his needle on a haystack is that developers have tools to find troubles. Tools such as very accurate metal detectors for your needle. It's not that you need to comb through million of pages of 'books'. If you can't easily find a problem such as a crash in million of lines of code given the amount of user's feedback that CCP can enjoy, it's only a symptom that your code is a terrible mess and probably needs to be rewritten or at least maintained a little better. Or a lack of skills from your developers. Both are just bad. |
