Can any ship support/use fighter drones - that is any ship that has the needed bandwidth (25Mbit/sec) & drone hold space ? or is it limited to Carriers and motherships. I have searched but can not find a specific answer to this question. Is anyone that is NOT in a carrier or mothership currently using fighter drones ?
Thanks in advance |

So is there any other ship than carriers and motherships with a drone bay of at least 5000m³? Otherwise it wouldn't matter I guess. |

They can be assigned to you--using your own skills to handle them. But yes only Carriers/supercarriers can actually "hold" them. |

From the Item Database entry on carriers:
Carriers do not have turret or missile weapons, but they do have huge drone bays. Additionally they can control more drones simultaneously than normal vessels, and they are the only class of ships capable of using fighter drones.
As stated, you can assign fighters to other people and their bandwidth doesn't matter, just the number of drones they have skill to control. If they can control 5 then you can assign them 5 fighters (provided they don't have any of their own drones out). |
