Hi all,
I recently acquired a new (used) HP lcd monitor. it seems to be in great shape, my browsers and all run fine, but when I play eve, it runs fine for like a minute, then starts behaving jerky. my framerate drastically decreases and the game becomes unplayable. my old monitor was an ancient CRT, and it worked fine. I really want to use this new monitor for eve, any ideas or suggestions would be great!

If, when Eve is running, your framerate decreases that cant be the monitor. The monitor isnt responsible for framerates only for showing what is running. Unless you mean that the monitor itself is becomes slower at showing framerates. Run the in-game FPS utility and see if that drops while the monitor starts jerking around. If it does then its your GFX, if it doesnt then yes, look at what could be causing the monitor to slow down. Consider getting a new computer to monitor lead. Look to see if the gfx analogue/dvi connector is damaged in anyway (also check the same on the monitor). Does this only happen on Eve or on any other games? The fact that your browser is fine means very little tbh, its not really dependent on the gfx as much as running games are. The framerate is so slow for the browser that theres hardly any there at all.
good luck
