This is features and Ideas discussion, It's more for the players than CCP.
What's
supposed to happen (and it does happen up to a certain point) is that a player posts an idea, it then gets discussed to death until it catches the attention or is brought to the attention of the CSM, the CSM goes to meet with CCP and suggests the idea, where it gets discussed further, if an agreement is settled upon then CCP adds this to some sort of backlog, then it is supposed to get addressed somewhere down the line and implemented.
The last part is yet to happen (and is the fuel for many whine threads and is a slightly different subject that I'd rather not touch to be honest), but this sub forum is really meant for the players to discuss stuff and REFINE ideas to bring to the CSM, and is not really for CCP to come in here and say "such and such is not possible" or "we're working on this right now folks hold on tight!" and if you honestly expect this, then you need to sit down and really think about why this shouldn't happen.
One example is if CCP starts making regular appearances in just about every idea thread, then we'd end up with every Joe lackey wondering why their post didn't get an official CCP response or why CCP seems to prefer this players idea more than everyone Else's and accusations of favoritism would ensue. Let's face it, CCP are starting to generate a very noticeable bad rapport with the players as it is. (at least the vocal ones on the forum anyway

)
Are our ideas falling on deaf ears?
No, not initially anyway, it's evident that they are truly being recognized at the meetings, It's what happens to them afterwords that is the problem.
So what can we do as players to get CCP in gear (and in less time than 18 months?)
Make a crap ton of fuss perhaps? It might work, no company likes bad press and good ones listen at that point.
Boycott? Sure, It might make CCP listen, or it could completely choke them financially leaving them unable to do anything about EvE and thus EvE will die and CCP will collapse. Or it could completely work, but if the playerbase really wants this game to be what they envision, they will not risk the death of EvE as there's too much at stake if they do (do you
really want to go to WoW or whatever other MMO after playing EvE?).
But my "prediction" you could say is that this won't happen thanks to the skill training side of EvE. There's always the chance that CCP might turn around and fix and implement ideas again, and if you've left your account inactive for those 18 months, why, that means you've missed out on a **** ton of skill points! and this is generally what makes it hard to truly "quit" EvE.
Anyway, my faith is in the fact that CCP will see how upset they've made us and see the error of some of their ways and once again become the best MMO company out there. and I bet that's the true faith of just about everyone, even the ones that have lost faith in CCP.
I just really wish it'd be now...
