eve is just a silly internet spaceship game

but the friendships you build are with real people, and can become real friendships

you can be judged in real life based on how you play a game with other human beings

Man, that is pretty stupid to be honest, if this was the case you should be gagged from speaking in public based on your horrible posts on an internet spaceship forum Razz

The more acurate, what they can get away with. EvE is 'just a game'. You can get away with anything. They can bann you but thats about it. You wont get away with things in RL, you go to jail. If people have no reservations about unethical in a game, chances are they dont in reality either. They just know they wont get away with it.

They do to some degree. You're extremely naive if you think they don't reflect your RL character on some level. Unless you RolePlay and try to create some seperation between the two. But you have clearly demonstarted that you did not RP this. It was boredom right?

No, I think you are exactly what your actions have demonstrated. Nothing more, nothing less.

And thats what bothers me about this game mechanic. I could appreciate the content if it was wrapped up in some well thought out plan that took almost as long to execute as it did to create what it destroyed.

First let me make it clear--I really like that in Eve it's possible to spend months, even years, infiltrating and sabotaging your enemy's corps and alliances. I love the sandbox, I love the stories that come out of it.

My concern though, is that it's getting TOO EASY. People don't even bat an eye anymore when a major alliance gets disbanded by a spy. Remember the legends that were GHSC? And then when the Goons disbanded BoB, that was pretty kick-ass. But then Goons got disbanded too(for the lulz, no less). And now U'K. It's getting old and boring. One of the game's most prominent alliances disbanding due to infiltration or a traitor should be big news, it should be an event we can parade around the gaming community as an example of how awesome the sandbox of Eve is. It should be very possible, but it should take time, effort, and planning. It shouldn't be "oh look, another alliance dismantled by a spy."

Thoughts?

Is that you Tyrrax Thork?
