Well what else do the fleet fight guys have to do? I mean it must be hard to watch the other 90% of eve go about their daily routines with little to no issues especially the high level members of their own alliance who are raking in the iskies from the general stability of nullsec due to no fleet fights.

Also: BUMP!

Whoops! Getting a little close to the bottom of page 1 there.

Who do you think is going to win the award?

I'd rather vote for a new shiny (Arrowhead) than a 7 year old broken feature (Eve).

I don't know. I never registered to vote there or even looked at the nominations. Who cares anyways? It's just some random internats site wanting to drum up some attention to the overall EU gaming industry. Even if eve won all it would mean is another little "yo we at x internats site think eve is cool" blurb for the marketers to use.

Eve is broken, and definitly not deserving of any best game awards.

Start listening to what current players want rather than trying to get new players in.

1. Fleet lag is terrible
2. Destroyed ships sometimes "respawn" and then not removed from the game.
3. PI is a clickfest and only suitable for bots
4. Things that relativaly easy to do you do for many times (I mean deep safes nerf). Also, it helped to fight lag, but alas..
5. Macro miners are macro mining
6. Periodical database "issues"

This is definetely feature list of Best Online Game!

Just posting again to applaud the CCP team. Refit my carrier earlier off a corp mate's ship and only half of my modules were actually online, half were showing offline and giving an error when I tried to online them (this module is already online, LOL WUT), and only jumping my ship to a station, removing the modules, and reattaching them to the ship fixed the problem.

Here's what I don't fully understand. Just what will be so captivating about WIS that after a week or two and the "Gee Whiz" factor wears off? Other than giving us a new way to spin in station I'm not sure 18 months more of concentrated effort on Incarna is only going to give us nothing more than pretty planets when we warp to a station. Will we be able to kill each other inside a station? Doesn't sound like it. Will we be able to prevent someone from boarding his ship? Will we be able to steal a docked ship? Doesn't sound like it either.

So what will be left after you've walked around, seen all the sights and bought a station T-shirt? Anything compelling? CCP might want to ask itself what makes a game great. What holds peoples interest? Why does a top down game like Starcraft become so much fun and people keep playing it for years? Is it new shiny or is it how the game is played? Eve is without a doubt a very playable game that has the capacity to hold our interests as shown by pre-Dominion game play. Unfortunately layers of new shiny were added and broke what is Eve's premier attraction.

Sometimes as a company you have to realize that things need to be scrapped, reshaped and go on from there. With Eve the player base knows what needs to be done and it is unfortunate that CCP does not have the clarity of sight to see what it's customers already know. CCP needs to understand that without revamping the game code itself, that adding ever more layers to a aging game engine is not going to improve anything. Spending time on another "improvement" like Incarna will attract some people but eventually word will spread that WIS has no real game play value. Then when the plebes actually try to jump in a ship and try to experience what Eve is really meant to be, they will abandon ship and go to a game that is not trying to be a fusion of many different things.

Eve is first and foremost about flying ships. If one cannot do that satisfactorily, then in the end Eve will spiral downward as other games are developed that will do it better. As in motorcycle riding and taking a spill, the question is not if but when. Fix your game CCP.

I sincerely hope that one will be able to turn the Incarna stuff off if one wants because if it becomes a prerequisite to being in station, things are going to get ugly when the hype wears off and people want to go back to playing internet spaceships.

Posting on page 69 Surprised

CCP said their vacation was for July, so I'd guess they only just started having full blown meetings about this with everyone back at the office, if they're even all back right now. I'd have hoped they learned by now that the next thing the company says will need to be well thought out and substantive, that anything less will result in a new wave of rage and further lower confidence.

Give em some time to get it right, and there's always the chance that it will be the answer we're all hoping for.

Well, keep in mind, according to at least one GM, this thread represents a small vocal minority, and hence can be easily ignored by them. After all, they've got a company they've paid tens of thousands of dollars to telling them new shinies > finished content content.
