I naively started conversations with each of the various career agents just to see what they say. Now I've got a bunch of mission offers and I don't have time to do them now. I'm going off the grid for a couple weeks. If I decline their missions, will they still talk to me? Or should I click "delay" and hope it will last until I get back? Thanks!

If you haven't accepted the missions you may decline them at your leisure as long as you don't decline missions from the same agent within 4 hours of a previous refusal. I.e if you decline a mission you have to wait 4 hours to decline it again. If they haven't been accepted you can also allow them to expire.

You mainly get hurt if you accept a mission and then fail it or let it expire.

"Decline" will reject the mission altogether.
You can immediately request a new one if you want (there's a very small chance you would be offered the same mission again, even if that was supposedly fixed a while ago), or you can leave that agent alone for as long as you like.
You only get a small penalty in standings by declining if you already declined another mission with that agent in the past 4 hours.

"Delay" will keep the mission offer up and running (but not accepted, so bonus timer doesn't run out) until you decide to either accept or decline it.
It's the same thing as simply closing the agent talk window without any additional actions.

Canceling an accepted mission always results in a standings hit.
Not sure what happens when an unaccepted mission expires.

If you plan to go away for a while, just make sure you haven't declined a mission in the past 4 hours with that specific agent (wait until that much time has passed if it hasn't already) and decline the current one before accepting it.

Nothing happens.
You get an evemail from the agent letting you know (s)he's disappointed, but that's all. There is no standings hit for letting unaccepted mission offers expire (it used to be the case, but it was changed).

However, I discovered on another character that if you let the tutorial agents' offers expire, they won't offer it to you again. This happen when I delayed the final mission for the combat trainer because I was on vacation on a questionable connection, wanted to wait till we got home. Upon returning, found the "i'm disappointed with you" notice in inbox, and he had nothing for me when I requested a mission.

You can petition to have tutorial missions reset. GMs are often willing to do that for you.

Any other type of missions and you are out of luck.
