England's pretty established country. Shaper of much of the modern map of the world. has tons of gingers. inventor of Essex.

USA's somewhat established. Saved us from the Germans-in-Black (can't use N word). Got the world's economy by the balls. has tons of nukes. inventor of Texas.

-> stop thinking the world's your playground.

Scandinavian countries > *. shame on you for not at least trying to be like those who are better than you, oh you, masters of the world.

and oh, happy independence day, birthdays, after all, are meant to be celebrated. <3

Hey OP, heads up stop combining faith and culture to produce a set of theistic principles which literally sees women are property and we'll stop infusing your beautiful golden landscapes with daisy-cutters and stop whining at the British government to bend to your backwards archaic social principles and we'll all be cool.

Edit: Ironically my ancestors suffered far more at the hands of the English to the point where our native culture was quashed entirely and much of our history was lost. Maybe we should bawwwwwwwwwwwww at the Labor government in England until we have our own personal brand of Ummah installed into the grain of English society.

Free enough, all my friends know, basically all my village does, and yes they do view me as a weirdo, but non believers arn't a new concept all together, i can cite some historical facts here but i won't, and there wasn't a burning or gunning of non believers in my area for a while. not saying it's perfect. but hey. progress. i'd say it's basically more or less the same ratio you guys had 40 years ago.

and hell mate, looking down on a region is good, it means you are wise enough to see that it needs improving. bombing it for oil though... .

see there's a difference here, im not saying it's wrong to look down upon something. im just saying it's wrong to abuse it knowing it's down already, see? i'm old enough to realize that a critique is not always negative.

and hell, i am free enough, sure there are some areas where it'd put you in mortal danger, but if i go to a Texan Trailer Park and start spouting atheist doctrine im pretty sure some dude with a gun out there will have a hard time resisting to snipe me out of his trailer, me being a sand******/towelhead aside.

looking down on something isn't bad tbh, and i appreciate it that you do. now we see eye to eye :) you should read Gulliver's travels dude, it'll open your eyes.

agreed.

i have this strange feeling though. i think people are thinking that i'm trying to preach the ummah thing... o_0 i already said im an atheist and reffered to the scandinavian systems as a model, i don't see them being run by moslems, still though, i didn't ever suggest that.

someone has seriously mis-read my post and thinks im preaching middle eastern doctrine, which i find disturbing on two accounts:

The first: the level of intelligence needed to reach such a mistaken conclusion.
The second: fail troll is fail.

but just to stress this: i hold no religious affiliations or biases, i am a pan-atheist. don't worry, i'm not going after your burgers. i'm just saying please make mine taste nicer rather than make me eat charcoal because you need extra sauce.

Actually, people would just leave you alone in said trailer park. They'd make fun of you and call you names probably but that's about it, unless you started harassing them, at which point they'd probably just punch you.

You see, people don't just randomly shoot each other in the US like you want to believe, and comparing trailer trash and idiot evangelicals to a radical religion which has no place in modern society is an insult to trailer trash.

Your region has been ****d by other countries for so many years precisely because it has yet to reach any sort of enlightenment. All these countries have to do is appeal to your base needs and they get what they want. If they don't get what they want, it doesn't really matter because instead of banding together in order to make real change and reform in your region and bring it out of third-world status, you'd rather just burn their flags and threaten cartoonists, thereby allowing other countries to just TAKE what they want because your complaints would simply fall on deaf ears.

If you want to be taken seriously and become a member of Earth 2010, you have to start acting like human beings. This isn't about you, however; I want to make that clear. This is about that region of the world.

Yes, you may be a representation of the change, but you bringing it up here is like shouting it to deaf people. Those of us here that may hold a bit of care for the people of your region are not going to be swayed by someone who claims to be a tolerated intellectual in a region where, unless you are rich, you run a high risk of being eliminated for it. So I would recommend that you spend less time worrying about what some forum warriors, in a remote gaming niche, may or may not think about you, and concentrate that energy into reading more from histories revolutionaries, and putting their theories to practice.

Here is a list

While reading about those guys, right down the authors, philosophers, etc, that they speak of and read up on those, then start to export those to your people. Most of us do not need to be introduced to Gulliver’s Travels.

I would especially recommend this book. Not that I espouse the mans whole political ideology, but the man as a revolutionary, is something to be admired.

Honestly with former presidents saying they also want to get rid of atheists, atheists being the least trusted minority and atheists being discriminated in US laws, you arent that much better off in the US. So until you change that, i look down on your region of the world (from europe).

Are you high? There's no discrimination against atheists in the US, and in fact, they're growing in number. There is no prayer in schools out of respect to atheists, the words "under God" were taken out of the pledge of allegiance, and there's that little thing called Separation between Church and State. If anything, the US is siding with atheists, not the religious.

Even if atheists were being discriminated against, they wouldn't be lobbing off their heads for not believing. Saying, "it's not much better" proves to me that you've never been to the US and know f*ck all about what you're talking about. I, however, DO live in Europe and can tell you that there's much more discrimination here against atheists than in the US.

Try again.

Your habit of making generalisations about a disparate continent is highly entertaining.

On a more serious note, what country do you live in?

There is no discrimination against atheists in the UK, but I cannot say that it is encouraged. Our Queen is head of the Church, etc.

In Poland, where I live at the moment, there are quite a few obstacles to life if you are not a Catholic.

In France, there is institutionalised atheism in public schools. So you might say that Atheism is encouraged.

I live in Italy and have traveled extensively throughout Europe, and while there are places who appreciate a more modern attitude like France and Holland, there are still many countries who are bogged down in religion. I'm not making a generalized statement, I'm saying what I've seen and experienced. To say that Europe as a whole is any more modern in terms of freedom of religion than the US is ludicrous, and that's my point.

Now, living in Italy is somewhat strange...it's a very religious country but no one here really believes in religion anymore. It's the strangest thing I've ever seen. No one goes to church, no one believes in the traditions or holidays, yet they continue to do them out of habit and just learned to appreciate having a day off. I sometimes see crucifixes hung up in people's offices, and while no one typically complains, it doesn't sit well with me.

I just read this. You do realise that your country is a laughing stock for a sizeable chunk of the world's population, principally because of moronic statements like the above.
