Just saw an article to the effect that BAE are introducing their newest UAV today - and its called the Taranis...
CCP lawyers on the copyright case straight away I would guess; although strangely enough, they appear to have originated in different levels of the same gene-pool...

Cant Be Copyrighted....they are just naming it after a god. much like how US aircraft have predatory names(Falcon, Eagle, Predator(drone), Viper(unofficial name of the F16) etc) i think what is kind of scary/cool is that we are developing drones, how long until the western navies have "Drone Boats" that simply launch and service combat drones. i mean imagine how many Predators an aircraft carrier could hold! |

I like where you're going with that. But I can't imagine they'd use the current giant aircraft carriers they use now, when they'd be better off in a smaller faster dedicated boat that costs much much less to run.  A bunch of different air fields on a bunch of small fast moving ships would be far more effective and quicker then crowding them all onto one big vessel anyways. |

that is true, smaller cheaper boats would lower the entry barrier to having carriers too. not many nations can field anything on the scale of a Nimitz and its battle group. they would be great for stuff like anti-piracy patrols. |

5k m3 :p and, for the record, a c-130 carries exactly one predator. Yep. The most common transport the air force flies can carry exactly one. |
