Is it possible to run L4 missions with a Gila? I have one but I'm a little nervous when it comes to running 150 mil cruisers into battleships :/

Any fitting suggestions would be appreciated :D

Wasp II x5

Something like that. As i never run missions, i have no idea how much tank is needed, but this one should be able to run most, if not all missions. Change hardeners/highs as you feel like.

Ofcourse it can do them. The main problem will be DPS though, it's lacking compared to BS fits.

Something to get you started (overtanked and no drone links so not ideal):

Hmmm guess im doing it right because thats essentially my setup minus a omni link for my drones in the mid. Thanks for the post.

Well, yeah, there's not alot of ways you can fit this ship. Passive tanking is what it does best and you have the drones for damage.

I would drop some more tank though. Most of the time you won't need that much. Add some damage mods and as I said, unless you have very good drone skills ... a Drone Link Augmentor I. You'll find it very usefull to be able to engage at your max targetting range. The problem with all those things is that the CPU is really thight.

My fit is the exact same as yours except the invulnerability field is a omnilink upgrade for my drones, but those skills could use some work so i may hold off on the level 4's for now haha

be careful about how long you can run a fit with an AB, 3x hardeners and all shield power relays in the lows.

I'd go for similar fits as above but with 2x PDU and 2x SPR, less overkill on the tank and less CAP issues.

I run a similar setup as above and never been below 60% shields. My only differences are that I dropped a cdfp for a sentry damage rig, i use resist amps vice active hardeners for cap issues, and I'm a missile noob so named HML although I'm considering dropping in aml's for frigs and a bcu or 2. I love this ship tanks like a passive drake but with better dps TII sentries ftw.

You generally don't want to fit drone links on a Gila anyway unless you also fit a sensor booster or signal amplifier. Without a sebo, your range caps out at 68km; if you're in a drone ship like the Gila, your drone control range should already be 57km. So you end up wasting an awful lot of CPU just to get 811km extra control range, and if you're looking to eat up CPU and midslots, you're better off with an omnilink anyway (or even a target painter, since you're in a missile ship).

I fly an ishtar, I just haven't come up with a fit I like better on the gila. I looted a gila bpc ages ago when ratting so I have had one sitting around for a while. been trying to get a gila fit I liked.

looking for a perma ab setup that can tank full room aggro and fit a SDA (t2 preferably)

OMG

funny to see this thread

i run my lvl4 with a gila , and love it!
who cares if a marauder is quicker etc. etc.

gila = easy fun

3 assault launcher II for the frigs
tractor beam and salvager
3x pdu ,1 shield power relay
rest is named ab , 3x lse II and spec hardeners for the mission

scoop out sentry drones orbit 500m one of the sentry with ab on
go afk
come back 5min
loot

i use specific sentry for mission so for angel ill use bouncers , for the rest garde

just make sure the scramblers/webs get ****ed quick with your assault launchers and light drones if you really need (i usaly keep my sentry on the big stuff) and clean the frigs with my launchers

tl:dr gila is pure fun for lvl4

I put this up awhile back when I first got my Gila. I've changed the fit a bit since then due to shuffling some of the mods to other ships. Gila is a nice ship for running missions where you have to travel long distances and is capable of afking most as well. Gila lvl 4 mission runner
