Ever since I started doing tourneys back in Alliance Tournament 4, the beacons were all in scan range. Scanning and finding the enemy team and using that info to determine a proper warpin range is what I considered to be a key part of the tourney.

This year the beacons are not all in scan range. Was this intentional, or just an oversight? If it's the latter, I would like to request that you adjust them a bit.

I think the current rules with beacons out of scan range are fine.

It really doesn't make too much of a difference except with some very specific setups, that, imho, are overpowered with beacon scanning.

I, too, think that the beacons should be in scan range of each other.

Yeah, we noticed that too. But it isn't that important anyway, it just means you have a bit less time to analyse.

If this was an intentional change then fine, but some CCP input would be appreciated.

It was intended.

And it's not part of the rules so it was not in the rules.

The problem with being able to scan beacons, was not necessarily for one team being able to see another, but rather for players in one match to be able to see what was in the next match and potentially influence other people's ship choices. Admittedly the chances of the circumstances occurring for this to happen are remote, but I dont like the potential for situations like that.
