What's going on during the gaps between matches. Is it not possible to prepare the next match so it's ready to start right away? Or can something interesting happen during the gaps? |

Some commentary about what happened in the last match just like after a football match, just going through what happened how they could've done better, why the team was so good, etcetc... i'd like to see that |

im sure it takes time to get the camera guys into place and im sure there is alot of stuff to do during the current match to keep ccp busy, I.E making sure there is no rules broken. its great as it is. |

The first two weekends will be like this, but for our final weekend everyone will be in our live studio in Iceland.
There will be no breaks, but instead non-stop action so extreme you may not be able to look straight at it. |

The camera guys basically have to target each ship in order (so each alliance appears on 1 side of the screen) as well as manually changing 1 alliance to +10 and the other to -10 so you can see the whole red vs blue thing. There's probably a whole lot of other stuff going on too that we just aren't aware of.
The gaps between matches will probably be filled in with stuff for the finals, but I'm just glad we have a live stream of rounds 1 and 2.

Not everyone wants to watch every match, but is instead, interested in watching particular matches.
Also, teams may have other commitments as well, and do not wish to arrive very early to wait potentially hours for a match, or arrive near time and miss it.
So the matches are scheduled every 20 minutes with a max length of 15 minutes. This allows for a little delay catchup, and lets teams and audience plan. |

Also, alliances are given a set time that they need to be ready to fight.
Look at it from this perspective. You are supposed to be at work at 1400. However, the other guy at your job finished at 1230 and so you miss your shift because something finished unexpectedly fast.
You can't tell a team they fight at 18:00 and then bump them up to 17:15 because the fights continually end faster than 15 minutes, ( the time limit for qualifiers )

camera ships are usually cloaked. also, how do you explain gaps in the locking? id say its some other mechanic just for the tournys. |

I love that the preliminary matches are being steamed live this year. Great step forward.
That being said, I believe it would be another great step forward to have some sort of events in between the matches during the first two weeks. Maybe for the next Alliance Tournament? Having the 5-10 minutes between matches, and one hour break in the middle encourages people to log off, and do something else (like play EvE!).
I might be wrong, as I tuned in to watch after the breaks, and the CCP team will likely know a lot better then I, as they have the viewing figures. Anyway, would still love to see some broadcasting during the breaks! |

 Every single time that Gnulpie guy opens his mouth he makes a commend or suggestion like the Jita Undocking feed that is worth PURE GOLD. Follow his posts and you will see he is the second coolest guy in forums after Chribba. At least this is my own view. Maybe CCP should have a chat with him about this game. For all i know they will have a blast and maybe a chance to hire a guy who knows this game and what keeps us all hooked here for nearly a decade now. Lets hear it for Gnulpie people.  |
