If CCP suddenly had the complete fix to get lag back to pre-Dominion standards, which of the following ways would they implement the fix:
A. Give it to us in the next expansion calling it a new feature? B. Implement the fix in a mini-expansion (a patch). C. Break up the fix into smaller increments and slowly fix lag through several patches and expansions. D. Keep it to themselves so that they can continue to laugh at our forum tears. E. None of the above. |

I am currently failing to load into a system in venal because of the dominion netcode. This system is also 3 jumps away from the main area of battle. When this stuff stops happening i will believe ccp have fixed the lag. Pre-dominion unreinforced nodes could handle twice, even three times as many people.
Even extremely heavily reinforced nodes like during the height of the battle for h-w ,die at 1,500 people, when pre-dominion during delve 2 when shrike died local was well past 2,000 people with people being able to shoot. |

D. The alliance *****-fleets and super-ultra-mega-huge-fleet battles would only get worse if it were fixed and tears are delicious. They water the plants that feed the hamsters providing the power to the servers. |

Betting C, which is basically what they seem to be trying to do now, though I wouldn't put B completely off the table.
That said, the next consequence would be A: fleets just blob larger anyway, that's just how these things work, and B: everyone'd just find some other MMO-inherent problem to spam up the forums over.
Like, say, lag.

People would just cram into single system until it would lag again. |

they would implement the fix as soon as possible. Then hours latter a 0.0 alliance or coalition of alliances would conduct a 7000 vs 7000 man fleet fight and complain about the lag it generated and how ccp is incapable of fixing it... |

Yes, like how during Delve, when people were putting 14k into 49-...wait, what? I wouldn't mind going back to pre-Dom and have a good fight again. Might even resub my accounts for it. Battles with 1000-1500 players with moderate lag were pretty nice. |

Almost certainly choice E.
If they did somehow get a fix they would tout it as a new feature to make more money (choice A. ). |
