I'm not having a good day. First I wait about 20 minutes on a gate while our FC looks for a lone Punisher to blob. The I fly 15 jumps to sit on another gate for 20 minutes, while we wait for some pirates to undock. Then we spend 20 minutes discussing what to do next. Then we spend 45 minutes fitting up ships when we decide to go on a roam into 0.0. And then when we finally form up and the FC tells us to warp to our first gate, EVE dies.

I'm about 99.999999999% sure Eve's serverfarm-slash-supercomputer cluster is run with Linux.

The SQL Database is Microsoft

And some people find that a personal insult^^

If I'm in a pod when I get back (and was DC'd while in a Raven) can I get my Raven back? Sad

Ah just a small database problem?

Understatement of the life of EVE or what?

Will it be solved quickly or will it be like the other friday?

Honesty please GMs, Goes along way.

Also lets talk about reimbursements from this DT will they be available within 2010 or are we talking 2011 here? Just so we know.

I think the original post was very accurate, "we will get you back into your pods soon..........after you get podded for being booted." *Taps foot* ok CCP get the defib out and shock the server again.

Anyone know of a good internet spaceship game that actually works and you don't have to download 2 fail expansions every year? anyone?

Thats exactly what they are "expansions" not patches.. they just add more content to an unstable database.

yeah 1825 for now, until about 20 mins when they push it back another couple hours....damn, I thought daily downtime was one of the main reasons for this this is getting old really fast, 2nd database issue in just as many weeks....frustrated!!

Or make expansions without fixing major (fleet fight lag) issues first..

Personally i feel this starts to be classic example of Quality assurance not doing their job on code that goes in production enviroment. What is it? Summer interns managing slip some code untested past quality division into final server enviroment.

If this pace keeps up, ccp better postbone next expansion few months and fix problems with existing enviroment first so its stable. Nothing ruins customer experience like buggy product.

thats a bit out of line imo, Eve would work fine if CCP committed themselves to clearing bugs before releasing updates and if they committed themselves to that Im sure they could do it. Unfortunately that doesnt bring new $$$$ into the game which is all they seem to be interested in.

They release expansions periodically to keep people from getting bored of the game. What they really don't understand is I, prob many others, would rather have old content for upwards of a year whilst that content is perfected rather then keep piling on new content with unresolved issues. I mean honestly.....do you think it will work? I mean its similar to building a skysc****r and using wood. Eventually it will get so tall and so full that it will collapse. Rebuilding it the same way solves nothing. CCP start with a proper footer and get some stuff perfected before adding. I understand a DB will go bellyup sometimes but when that frequency is increasing from say a year ago then that should tell you something.
