So dust is supposed to have a big effect soverenity... etc?
Havent CCP thought a about that: console players arnt going to play the same game for years and years like eve players do. At max they will probably play it for 4/5 months untill thye get bored and a new game comes out. This leave us stuck with an inactive dust community who are only filled with eve players who want to take space.
CCP Dust seems like one terrible messed up idea just so you can make some $$$$$. Dont ruin this game please. Thanks |

How many times does CCP say that the games will work independently for you to get it through your thick skull that even after dust is implemented. If there are 0 Dust players online, Eve will still work.
Planetary Interaction is what will have a big effect on Eve.
Dust is designed to have some optional effect on planetary interaction. |

Havent CCP thought a about that: mmorpg players arnt going to play the same game for years and years like card game players do. At max they will probably play it for 7 or so months untill thye get bored and a new game comes out. This leave us stuck with an inactive eve community and server bills to pay.

no... Dust is to make capturing planets EASIER. Im thinking planets in 0.0 will have upgrades or somthing, when you take them you keep all the things on the planet, as opposed to nuking them and starting over.. but just a guess.. Eve will be connected to dust but not dependent on it. the only thing i am worried about it DUST will be released late 2010 early 2011 ( maybe later?) when the next gen consoles will come out 2012 or early 2013.. so 1 year of dust and a new console will be released.. I hope they have a port already in the works =\ |

The current gen of consoles will probably be kept longer due to their plentiful capabilities, highish prices and upcoming addition of motion control. Also this gen got off to a **** start and could do with running a little long. |

Yes, what theyre doing is revolutionary. Im excited to see how it plays out.
My only beef, I wish as a 6 year paying PC customer that I didnt have to buy a console and suffer through the god-awful experience that is a console controller just to experience the latest content.
Pretty much every Friday-Sunday I game. I play a few hours of EVE then switch to TF2 for a little break. Back to EVE then maybe some Left4Dead2. More EVE then maybe some Bishock2,,, theres a definite MMO to FPS pattern as each takes my mind of the other. When I first saw Dust I was ecstatic thinking it would take the place of all the other FPS I play but I could continue to contribute to the world Ive grown to enjoy so much. Then I read it was console only,,,,, uugghhh.
All i can hope for now is theres a way to nuke from space the little children playing their console in daddies basement and ruin their gaming experience.

If they made it so that Dust 514 players could capture the new Tyrannis world resources and use them for devious purposes such as launching/hijacking ships and terrorizing EVEspace, I could support that. Maybe give them an unlock code that allows them to switch to a fully faction-fitted navy-issue battleship if they get enough Dust Points or something along those lines. The idea of Daddy's shiny new Proteus getting roflstomped by a pack of snot-nosed console kiddies is just too precious to pass up.  |

This. CCP are up for taking risks to develop their game and think outside the box. Not enough developers have the balls to do it. DUST and planetary interaction are just another step towards making eve have even more depth. They plan to eventually mesh DUST and eve together into one seamless experience. Gradually over the years. |

I'm hoping this will happen, then they'll port it to PC, and it'll be played until the end of time, us PC gamers are like that. Since we can actually control the game with a mouse and keyboard, it becomes a lot more competitive (and less based on the luck of who was looking in the right direction at the beginning of the fight), and we end up playing the games for ages. Then add the slight roleplaying/mmo aspect to it, and it just becomes amazing. |

DUST is something I sweep up and throw away.
Given the lack of immediate action in Eve, if DUST suffers from the same problem I seriously doubt console players are going to have any long standing desire to play it. Console games aren't big on delayed gratification. |

Haven't CCP thought a about that: Primitive man isn't going to continue the same journey for years and years like migrating animals do. At max they will live for 2 or 3 weeks until they get eaten and die. This leave us stuck with an underpopulated cave community and a species to propagate.
