So, imagine that you have deced a corporation in high sec, mostly for lulz. Imagine said corp having a gigantic epeen hanging in space (POS). Said epeen has 13 (yes. 1 and 3) labs online. 9 anchored shield hardeners. About 15 or so guns anchored (but offline). The only defences online are one small AC, one small Arty, on torp battery, one SD battery, one web and one disruptor. Oh and one med AC and one med Arty.
Say your own corp has two members. Is there a way you can **** these guys off (reinforcing their POS) without making a fool of yourself in the process? I don't see one. Sure, we could get into two armageddons with RR and then fall asleep for the 72 hours it'd take us...

The moment you wardec them, they'll pull the labs down and go to "deathstar" mode in the next 24 hours. However, they will lose what research they did on those labs...
Anyways, you're really asking for more than you can chew. There's only two of you, and more of them, so.. |

You can always use the messed up games mechanics like we did to pop a war targets pos with limited numbers. Get some neutral friends to remote rep you whille you are shooting there pos, if there is no pos gunner online the pos will cycle to the neutral parties as they will have aggro for repping you. your small two man fleet can turn out to be a huge fleet. we turned 4 attackers into 15 by doing this. |

I'm in a somewhat similar situation, I found my targets have a large pos with a zillion labs on them and... 10 cruise missile batteries. So when there were only 3 of them in local I whipped out the Maelstrom and incapped all 10 cruise batteries, they tickle a little bit and sometimes I actually had to shield boost once or twice...
Then they anchored a neut, disruptor and 4 small rails as I was asleep which isn't very nice of them as I explained to them that a POS without expensive goodies that can be ransomed or armaments for them to hide in is pretty much a non-target for me. So with the help of a basilisk I took out the disruptor, neut and rails. I can't kill the POS solo but I have friends on backup to add a little dps would it get to that.
They're ok people really and invited me to their channel, some of them show potential but most are the "no honour, we just want to be left alone" type. I tried to explain some stuff to them and again, 1 or 2 show promise but the rest (especially the CEO) just doesn't get EVE.
And now their CEO made another bad move by having some other corp dec me (I told him that bringing in outsiders will extend the war for double the time those outsiders dec me), but that corp has 70 members and seems to be full of jokers (I might eat my words on that but doubt it). so as I see it, 70 extra free targets. I do hope their haulers have scouts.
Back to your question, you will simply need more dps or it'll be a snorefest. |

No they won't, as long they don't cancel the research or repackage the lab, it paused until the labs are anchored and online again. |

That's what I thought as well, but the war has been active for over a week, and they've still to online more guns than 2 small, 2 meds and 1 heavy. Still have their labfarm running. Of course, this could change in no time. |

Two ships would take hours to bring down an active POS...and I don't mean "a few hours", I mean like more than 6 or 7, and that's assuming you could do it at all given that I don't know if two battleships even have the DPS to override a tower's shield recharge rate (assuming the shields actually recharge...I've seen a tower taken down once, but there were 20 of us, so I'm not sure if the shield was recharging, or if it just had a LOT of HP with no recharge at all).
On top of that, as has been stated already, all it would take is one person finding out about your assault to online the guns and obliterate your ships and any support they have.
The bottom line is that taking out hi-sec POSes is pretty impossible if the owning corp has even one person with authorization to activate the guns online during the assault. |

I think I would try this. Time it for your target corp's off time if possible. Start shooting with your allies remote repping you. As soon as the defense batteries cycle to each ally he can start shooting. In fact, you can have people warp off and warp back to encourage cycling if you really want to. I don't know how many you'll need to reinforce it in a timely fashion though, but it should technically be possible to pull off with enough help. |

We decided against it. After all, we wardec for fun, not for killing our brains with mindless POS-bashing. |

we took out a pos with only a few people. it is possible, but insanely boring.

I think you overestimate the efficacy of POS guns. Originally by: Lara Dontral The bottom line is that taking out hi-sec POSes is pretty impossible if the owning corp has even one person with authorization to activate the guns online during the assault.
Are you nuts? We've taken out quite a few poses in hi-sec, death star or not. |

Yeah POS takedown didnt seem that hard to me.
Years ago we had our first small POS in a 0.5. It had shield hardners, two or three medium rails/blasters and a couple of damps. We were young and silly and didnt know better.
We got decced for a POS ransom. We took all the good stuff out in the 24hour period and set up the POS for a fight.
Anyway we were shocked at how quick the shields were chipped away with just a couple of POS takedown BS's. No time at all.
In the end we decided to fight, had a great time doing it and used the lul in the fight to take the POS down and tuck away to be put back up another day.
Actually we sold it as we learnt that a small POS is a tasty treat. |
