Hence my THIS IS SPARTA OOPE! in the title. I have no qualms with this thread being locked so long as we get a reason for why all of a sudden CCP is on a holy crusade to erase all evidence of other games and companies from existence. |

If it is a new policy, it would lead me to believe CCP feels somehow threatened. If that were the case, the BP thread would be the first to go, no questions, it is, for all intents and purposes, the only possible threat at this time. Quote:

Good. It isn't just me then.
Half the threads in OOPE are related to other games and it's never been an issue before. Did I miss a memo or something?
Whilst I don't always agree with the opinions of my fellow capsuleers, it's nice to be able read what they have to say on a given game and I fail to see how mere mention of another game could be any threat whatsoever to CCP and EVE. It's not like there's really any competition for what EVE is out there at the moment... certainly not from sub-standard run and gun cheat-fests like the onre mentioned in the other thread.
I'm going to put this down to one of the Devs having a bad day. We're all entitled to them every now and again and even I have my odd "WTF!??!" moments (difficult to believe I know), so it would be churlish of me in the extreme to jump on a Dev for having a (hopefully) out of character brain fart.

Ok, Discussions on other games are not permitted on the forums and there are a number of reasons for this which include how they tend to spiral out of control with players disagreeing on whether that game is good bad or indifferent. This results in people trolling each other unnecessarily and ends in bad feeling much like political and religious discussions tend to do. There is also the fact that the EVE Forums are primarily for discussions regarding EVE Online. I am pretty confident that World of Warcraft, Modern Warfare, Final Fantasy and most other games have their own forums and I would imagine that they would welcome your feedback and opinions on their own forums. Just as a final reminder, please do not start threads on the forums discussing moderation. If you have an issue that you feel aggrieved with, please submit a petition under "Other Issues", "Forums" and we will be happy to address those with you.
