Test: 2010.08.26 20:00
OS Win7 64bit
Intel i5 750@2.67GHz
ATI HD5700 1Gb
8GB RAM

User Experience
Did you have Audio enabled? - yes
Did you have brackets turned on? - yes
Zoomed in most of the time, all graphic options, effects, etc on or at max. level.

I had no problems with targeting, moving, or lack of response. Only noticeable delay was jumping en masse, I got a traffic control message but I was on the other side after some 30 seconds wait (I was spamming the jump button all the time as indicated by the FC)
Once (the very last jump) I got a message to get within 2500km when I was alreday some 400m from the gate, It took 40 seconds to jump.
Grid loaded without any problems after warping or jumping in all cases (zoomed in, full graphic effects, all brackets on) and on the battle cicling my missiles, activating modules et all worked flawlessly.

So this was a very smooth experience, pity my Raven was destroyed on the very last minute of battle :(

  • Did you have Audio enabled? Both normal and EveVoice.

  • Did you have brackets turned on? No most of the time.

  • Average FPS during the test(s): 40-60 (v-sync on)

  • Did you notice any desyncs during the test?: When attempting the jump into Poitot I was told I was more than 2500m from the gate when my overview said I was 700m away.

  • On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? 7

PI Tests: Everything responded instantly and flawlessly
Jump Tests: On one occasion I seemed to desync and on all occasions (spamming jump or no) I was not loading anyone else using the Gate, only those who cynod in showed up on my overview.
Warp tests: Didn't notice any funny behaviour, I aligned and warped as usual it seemed to me.
Combat: Targeting was responsive, modules were auto-cycling well, no more than 1-2 seconds of module lag when activating/deactivating.

The only major problem was the complete lack of any ships being apparent on the field.

After the destruction of my ship, the first hung the "Log Server" and then hung the EVE client, and everything would crash.
I attached the file with the "Log Server" after the crash but unfortunately could not save the file

Weird things noticed:
1. Jumping with Spaming the Jump button - serious lag, "Session already in progress" mixed with "Out of range" (can't remember the exact message), but I was @ 500m, not @ 2500+
2. After each gate-jump the market window was popping up and I was closing it (not minimizing, closing, until the next jump ;-)
3. "Show Info" from the context menu on ships was not working - only ship picture, no info / working tabs
4. During combat: FC broadcasted targets - wrong context menu was popping up, so the "Lock target" option was not available most of the time
5. After the test: Docking in Poitot V - Moon 14 - Itake: 15 seconds complete UI freeze
6. All the time: Being kicked off the Fleet / Wing / Squad voice channels

Screenshots (with Ctrl+Alt+Shif+M open) and LogServer logs will be attached to my bug report.

Suggestions regarding the test tools:
1. The Monitor window (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+M) could log FPS / CPU etc. on the disk synced with the LogServer caputre. It should not add lag, as it is being refreshed not quite frequently.
2. For example Steam collects hardware specs (OS / CPU / RAM / GPU etc.) - it should not be difficutl for LogServer to capture such data (or even the EVE client, when it test mode)

Suggestions regarding the test procedure / organization:
1. The MOTD of the MassTesting chat channel has to be updated along with Forum Thread update. I've logged 90 minutes prior to the test start time and the MOTD was still the one from Aug 19 - confusing!
2. All text commands given in the chat window must be immediately repeated with voice by the FC / Test Lead. Posting text like "15 seconds to warp" and then saying the same with 10 seconds delay do not add much to the smoothness of the test ;-) Using Broadcast messages for important milestones in the test would be also beneficial, because after each glitch / investigation, people start wondering around and miss the next steps.
3. Lack of faction items on the market / available contracts is a hassle if one wants to use a high-end fleet setup

CPU: AMD 7750 Dual-Core 2,7 GHz
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4500
Mem: 4GB
Audio: off
Brackets: off
FPS: 20 zoomed in 40 zoomed out
Weapons: grouped

Experience: Very good throughout (most of) the test. Minor lag when jumping, none in the PI test.

Shooting stuff went good in the beginning. But then about in the middle of the carnage, the guns failed to response at all. It was not module lag, it was just as if I had not klicked on them at all. Nothing green, nothing red. Other modules resonded, though.

Didn't hit anything after that. Crashed when trying to jump to FD-MLJ.

One problem, during the fight, target info for primary (F1), secondary (F2), ... got all over the overview on friendly and hostiles as well, even on gates and other stuff after I warped and jumped out of the system. Makes it kind of difficult to spot the REAL targets Wink

The warping took signficantly less time than normal and weapons fired when they should and did so regularly which is a plus, however when I warped in my fps went from 50 -0.1 in a heartbeat and made locking targets or even moving the cursor a task, After 1 minute of fighting my logserver crashed and my fps jumped to 2. Locking now took long however the game was playable until Eve finally crashed, Before it crashed however It almost seemed as if I reloaded the grid as if I had just jumped in.

*Grid load on jumping tests was fast, jumping itself was delayed for 20-40sek after pushing the jump button
*On the combat test (in fleet w) there was a massive desync as the attacking fleet jumped in. My ship went down with noone on overview, it filled up as i entered in my pod.

    - Drones responded much slower than mods.
    - Session-timers was a bit off (could be desync, but don't know)
    - Eve-voice was choppy at times
    - Caps left battle with no animations in the last few minutes.
    - Overview glitched a few times (sup-caps went missing while still on grid).
    - Lag when entering self-initiated warp in Poitot (to gate). At the time of warping, the overview emptied while still within range of everybody on grid.

    Edit:
    - Watchlist and FPS-graph did NOT load during the engagement. Numbers on the FPS-meter showed and updated, but no graph was present, and no shield/armor/hull indication on the watchlist.

Did you have brackets turned on?
    Mostly not

    Average FPS during the test(s)
Didn't check but it seemed decent

Did you notice any desyncs during the test?
Yes, right from the start at the planet when everyone was jostling at the warp-in. I warped one my clients out/back in specifically to resync it with the server's view and look for desyncs and found a lot of position differences of between rougly 1km and 5km. Later on after jumping plenty of sub-cap ships were missing on one or both clients so everything was out of whack.

On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome)
Not 100% sure what this is asking, the client seemed pretty smooth so 5 vs TQ in that respect, but obviously all the issues made the whole experience way worse than TQ

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.
There was a lot of weirdness going on with ships not appearing on overview/inspace, couple of things I noted specifically:
    - After one of the jumps pretty much no subcap ships appeared (from either fleet) on one my clients, but a lot of the capitals did. (I wasn't paying attention to my other client at the time so not sure if that was the same.) We were fleet warped off the gate to the next one and it wasn't until landing that what looked like everyone appeared again for me. The second fleet warped in behind us a bit later and were all visible at that point too.
    - During the fight one my clients (A) couldn't see the other (B), while B could see A. I had B watchlisted on client A and the health bars weren't showing as if it were off grid. I also tried broadcasting for armour with B, and client A saw the broadcast but wasn't able to use it to get a lock (like happens when someone broadcasts but then leaves grid). Other people were able to see client B's ship because I got shot a bit and people repped me after I broadcasted.

    Edit:
Completely forgot to mention the other issues:
    - When I first undocked before the test one client had duplicated gates/station/ship on overview, two copies of every item. Haven't seen this old bug in a long time. It didn't happen again during the rest of the test
    - Had a socket closed error on one client during the planet test. I know these have affected some people a lot but I haven't had them much (ever?) before
    - A CTD in d3d9.dll after viewing the planet. I've never had it before, but then I don't usually use planet view

    GPU: nvidia geforce gtx 275
    RAM: 6GB

    Audio enabled: Yes
    Brackets on: Yes, all.
Average fps: During PI test 60. During jump tests about 30, dropping to 20 sometimes. During fight, about 15-20.
    Desync: No
Performance: Can't rate PI as I don't do it in TQ, but seemed pretty good, no significant lag noticed. Gate jumps I would rate at 4. Faster than on TQ perhaps but with the major issue reported by others of lots of ships not appearing. Fight I would also rate at 4 for the same reason. It was a bit like fights when you have not loaded grid yet, only with no noticeable lag but still getting shot by people you can't see. Modules, warping, moving etc all worked perfectly, but this is meaningless if you can't actually see your enemy while they shoot you.

Extra notes: had a weird graphics issue probably connected to the ships not appearing. Weapons fire and drones from the invisible ships did appear (not sure about direct fire weapons but missiles did appear), but missiles would just hang in space, moving very slowly; noticed some advanced heavy missiles apparantly moving at something like 500 m/s.
I was in fleet W which meant we were camping the gate for the fight section. It was almost like an inversion of TQ's current jump issues, where the party jumping in would not load grid and die to invisible enemies; in this case the people jumping seemed to load grid fine but those already on grid did not load the new parties.

    Yes.

    * Did you have brackets turned on?
Off most of the time. Switched them on occasionaly without any notable impact on FPS until the fight started and drones were deployed. Then FPS dropped severily.

    * Average FPS during the test(s)
~15 close up most of the time.
    ~30-50 zoomed out.
~1-5 during the fight with all brackets on.

    * Did you notice any desyncs during the test?
    No.

    * Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.
Because of the small fleet sizes, practically everything related to modules and ship/drone control worked fine. However, there were some minor issues.

    * Ship info was not displayed for some ships. Just an image on an empty field.
    * Drone attack icon got stuck to the locked and once attacked target, so it seemed as if they were still attacking even after calling them off or switching to another target. Can't say about battleships as they died too fast, but every capship I attacked with drones remained with the drone icon for the whole time locked.
    * Didn't notice any difference between spam-jumping and single-click jumping. In both cases it took approximately the same time, only in spam case I got the message about session change.
    * According to my fleetmate in a dread, after a gate jump he couldn't see any ship besides capitals. He was receiving damage from my BS's guns and drones, and in the case of drones he saw them appearing out of nowhere when I let them out and disappearing when they returned to drone bay. I also tried to bump him and saw him turning and drifting away, but from his point of view he wasn't moving. I couldn't see subcapitals too, except for a few battleships, which could have jumped earlier.
    * Before the last gate jump into the fight I received a message about being farther than 2500 m and it was true as I was some 3000+ meters away. But continued to receive this notice even after moving into jump range and even to 0 from the gate. After about 10 s of repeating jump order within jump range this notice stopped showing, and I finally jumped through.
    * During the fight there were occasional capship locking difficulties. Suddenly they became invulnerable as if in warp.
    * Overview glitch, when broadcast icons appear on random overview items.

    Hi,
I love participating in the Mass-Test events, but I live in the U.S., Mountain Time Zone, which makes that 2 P.M. for me and I'm at work. Any chance of any more week-end tests / fleet battles? I saw the announcement for the Jita test on Sunday, Sept. 5, and I plan to attend. But I've learned so much in the fleet battles in Mass Tests on Singularity, as well as the pre-release Planetary Interaction tests, that I'm hoping for another one on a weekend when I can attend.

    Thanks,

    - the jumps with the 300 people caused some traffic messages
    - the fight was working pretty well apart from the fps which where pretty low
    - unticking shipclasses in the overview settings while the overview is filled with the fleets causes the clients to lag for a short time while it filters the overview

Did you notice any desyncs during the test? No

On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) 5

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc. ITs cool to participate
and the instructions where pretty clear. But the framerate droped to 0 when the fighting started.

    * Did you have Audio enabled? Yes
    * Did you have brackets turned on? Yes, for part of until I could get the UI to catch my request to turn them off
    * Average FPS during the test(s) 20 up to fleet fight, then went to fractional
    * Did you notice any desyncs during the test? No
    * On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) 5 - Not been in a fight this size on TQ, so no basis for comparison.
    * Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.

I saw lag. It took a while from when I requested to when my drones actually launched, and targetting took longer than it should have for the first primary (ie given my sensor strength and size of target it should not have taken 60 seconds to lock. However, this is likely normal for big fights. I realized I did not have my damage control running, and it took about 60 seconds for it come start spinning.
    My notes:
    21:39 15s grid load
21:55 logserver reported to be crashed, but it was still running, so will submit the save file.

I should note that I need to remember how to dial back my graphics, since I think some of the slowness was memory or CPU at my end.

    Os version: Win7 64x
    CPU: AMD 6400+ x2
    GPU: 8800GT @ 1920x1080
    RAM 4GB

    Audio was Enabled.
    Brakcets were Turned on.
Average FPS (during fleet movments - no combat) 30~ fps
Average FPS (During Combat) 3~ fps

No desyncs during test for me, only lag was on cyno jump where i got traffic control. however this always cleared within 30 seconds
On a scale of 1-10 i have to give a 6, as it is nice having no module lag.

Once again a very nice test where i had minimal issues, though could u find a way to say "prepare to jump" without using the j word :P

Did you have Audio enabled?: yes, as well as Eve Voice
Did you have brackets turned on?: no
Average FPS during the test: most of the time 30 FPS, 10 FPS in the fleet battle.

Did you notice any desyncs during the test?: not really
On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome): 7, I would give more but only 300 people showed up so not sure how representative this is.

Describe your experience: Lag was quite doable. Jumping into systems never took me more than a minute and grid loaded smooth. Some lag in fleet battle but auto-repeat kept playing nicely.

    Test : September 2 @ 20:00
    OS : Vista 64 bit
    CPU : Intel E8400
GPU : ATI Radeon HD 4870
    RAM : 4gb

    Audio : Yes
    Brackets : Yes
    Average FPS : 15-25
Desyncs : Brief moments here and there but nothing with too much inconvenience
Performance of sisi compared to TQ : It seemed significantly laggier, even before the test started.
My Experience : This test was significantly more laggy than all previous tests I've been on. My computer usually runs 60 fps on 3 clients; I was running 1 client this time with the map open and was getting 15-25 fps. Modules were cylcing fine and seemed to start up more reliably than previous tests (the cycle bar was extremely lagged).

The best we have seen ever. Tobad there was so few this time.
Modules: didnt see any lagging there (only a very short delay for activating). Got a delay for 2 min 30 sec., when mass jumping thru gates.

On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome): 3, TQ is much better

Describe your experience: Lag was only bad when @ zero on a gate. Jumping into systems was quicker this time than on the 19th August, 2010. Never lost a grid like some. Fleet battle was okay this time, because I stayed out @110km.
However, when returning back to Caldari space, every jump made the Market screen open!!

Very good. About 10 secs jump lag, 1 sec module lag. Don't know if it was for the lack of people online. Warping out and in during the end of the fight was no problem at all.

Best I had on Sisi this far.
