hi all

just wondered do any skills increase your resistance to warp scramblers or is it purely ship+module based ?.

No, only Warp Core Stabilizers and some ships have built in either immunity (supercarriers and titans) or warp core strenght (deep space transports and skiff).

in a roundabout way, agility can indirectly improve "resistance" to warp scrambling.

the faster you can align and warp off, the less time they have to lock and scram you.

to that effect evasive maneuvering (under the navigation group) and Spaceship command (under spaceship command...duh) will improve your agility. Mods that do the same are inertial stabilizers and nanofiber internal structure....both low slot modules.

it is important to note that warp strength helps you escape scrams that opponents have already gotten on you, while agility will help you to avoid being scrammed, to that end, fitting agility modules and warp core stabilizers on the same ship is a bad idea (considering they vie for the same slots) because one of them will always be useless.

lastly, you need:
1 warp strength (1 warp core stabilizer) to overcome the effects of a warp disruptor (the long range one)
2 warp strenth (2 WCSs) to overcome the effects of a warp scrambler (the short range one)
3 warp strength to overcome the effects of a faction warp scrambler (very expensive short range ones)

these effects stack, so you will need more WCSs for more modules/people scrambling/disrupting you, on a purely 1 for 1, 2 for 1, or 3 for 1 (based on the above numbers) basis.

Keep in mind that cruiser-class Heavy Interdictors (HICs) have an infinite-point Warp Disruption Field Generator I with a Focused Warp Disruption script, so there is no escape from one. HICs can also switch to bubble-mode in nulsec for a 16 km radius no-warp zone.

Destroyer-class Interdictors can similarly launch Warp Disrupt Probe which have a 20 km radius and last for 2 minutes.

Then there are Mobile Warp Disruption Fields.

In my experience, all of the above are more a cause for concern.

You can also try ECM modules to break their lock. Then you can get away while they try to relock you.

Just remember, stabs cause testicular cancer, or well, I at least have never met someone who'd fit a wcs who's got balls.

So that's why I felt odd after flying my cloak-nullifier-stabbed Tengu... Thanks for the info.
