Have you guys fixed the issues with EVE TV from the last tournament? I had big problems when streaming the video and every time after the player finished buffering for a couple of seconds the audio did resume but the video didnt. Had to close and reopen the player several time. And the HD player wouldnt even open properly if I remember correctly.

I want to push 'Super Twinkey69' up for this.

There are many interesting reasons why he should be on the panel and I'll just name a few:

- one of the Fleet commanders for Triumvirate
- Vocal (*chuckle*)
- Has a point of view on *stuff*
- Clear vocals, not muffled. Good pronunciation
- Commentators don't have to type so his spelling isn't an issue
- He will be FREE when you are running the tourney and really needs to get out of his parents basement
- Entertaining, he will be much loved by your audience

If he hasn't already signed up, let me know and I'll walk him through it.

Don't have an Youtube of him acting as a commentator, but I think if you google for him, you'll find a sound board. Shocked

Seriously, get him up there and I promise you an unforgettable alliance tourney.

In this day and age - why get people to fly to iceland, when you can have them deliver their opinions via skype or something? Give them access to the live feed, tips on lighting and slap a four minute delay on the webcast - allowing for synch problems etc.

Voice only would be good also, we dont need to see these people a radio broadcast accompaniment would do just fine and be a lot easier for commentators. The best sports commentary is still on radio.

You miss the point entirely.

The whole point of the event (not just the fighting but also bringing some of the 'expert' players to head office) is about CCP loving their players. It may not seem like it at times, but its true. And they want us to come and be part of something genuinely unique. Thats the point.

Its amazingly cool that they do it at all, and even more so that its open recruitment. Its just cool as **** to be zipped away to iceland as part of playing eve. Nuff said.

How about fixing the server side issues before organising lame gimicks that rely on a solid well performing network

It's promotion of their game and its community. People set up teams for these kind of thing, it creates team spirit, an isk faucet and an excuse for the people involved to get completely plasterd after thw shoot.

The videos on you tube can potentially attract new users, ect.

All in all it's a great thing thing to do for company.

The Alliance Tournament is something unique in the MMO world. Where else do you have a "single server" population putting their own in game items on the line in the name of PVP?

Having flown during AT6 I can say it was a terrific buzz if a bit more stressful than "real" PVP.

Yes it is a marketing exercise, but a damn good one because it brings Eve to a wider audience while also giving the players something to work towards.

Win - Win in my opinion Wink

I have just sent out invitations to those selected for a voice interview, please check your inbox. We won't be sending out mails to those not selected.

Thank you to everyone who applied and sorry to those who have not made it any further, we encourage you to try again next time! We had double the usual number of applicants and so we have taken a lot more people then usual to the voice interview stage, this meant we also had to cut people who would otherwise stand a very good chance of progressing.

To those accepted for interview this Saturday, good luck!
