Edited by: Keil Sonter on 24/01/2010 05:23:08 Hi all,
We are seeking guide and article writers who are looking for an outlet to show off their writing skills and would like to provide original and entertaining material for a new EVE related website - to be announced soon.
There are commission payments and long term columnist posts for those interested.
If you are interested please contact me here or via eve mail.

*Raises hand* I'm interested. Could you eve-mail me in game to explain everything? |

Hi Gabrielle,
Many thanks for getting in touch and I am delighted in your interest.
I would love to contact you directly in game but I am out of the country right now on a RL job for a client. I can connect to the forums but I cannot get into my EVE account. It will be the 1st or 2nd February before I get back I'm afraid.
So to you and anyone else who has tried to contact me via Eve mail in the last few days I can only apologise and promise I will respond as soon as I can.
If there are any questions you would like to raise here I will answer but if you would prefer to be discrete then please wait until I can get back to eve mail.

Edited by: Gabriel Lioncourt on 26/01/2010 17:00:40 Well I'm a pretty good writer, and i have many opinions about EVE in general and ideas for short fanfic kinda stuff. If u could just explain to me what u would want me to do for ur site, that would be awesome :) |

Edited by: Keil Sonter on 27/01/2010 20:18:53Thank you all for your comments and the interest you have shown. Firstly we are not seeking 'volunteers' and there would be a commission payable on all work we published. All payments would be in ISK. I have been 'guilty' of posting similar threads on other forums and apologised when made aware of my error. However one outcome has been the level of reward we offered was considered 'laughable' (I think this was one succint reply I had..). We would appreciate comments from anyone interested on what they felt was a reasonable market rate. We have looked at comparable websites and at the rates offered as our guide - we could be way off the mark so let me know what YOU think is a reasonable deal. Note the use of the keyword 'reasonable' Volunteers are welcome and we certainly wouldn't turn someone away if they were just starting out and wanted an avenue to 'trial' their work. Be warned though, that all articles/guides etc would be open to criticism by the inclusion of publicly viewable comments - some of which may not be very pleasant to read. We won't allow abuse of any kind but highly critical and even caustic comments would probably be the norm. I think one area where we insist on a level of competency would be in spelling and grammar so while I thank you for your interest Gabriel, I would suggest you stop texting into the forum from your mobile and converse with me properly if you wish us to take you seriously. I did like your attempt tho'.... If any of you are serious at all I would ask you to contact me via eve mail and if possible give us an indication of your past work experience or if you have none then an outline of what you think you can do and what qualifies you.. "see correction in next post"i.e. Have you run missions for the last 3 years non-stop and know every detail inside out. Simple stuff like that.. I cannot connect to eve mail at the moment as I am out of the country but I will respond on my return - on the 3rd February is my present estimation. Our website is not yet ready to go public so there is no hurry to provide material but we would like 'open' the site with a substantial amount of original works and especially on subjects such as the impact the new releases/patches have brought about. There is plenty of scope and as the subject line asks 'Original thinkers required..' |

Correction:I have just realised that the last post focuses on entirely the wrong area with respect to the readers of this forum. I think I am suffering from my own stupidity in cross posting similar requests and forgot who I am addressing. As this is EVE Fiction it is of course not a necessity that you have multiple years of experience in EVE, although the more experience you have the easier it would be to write an article that is good fiction and correct with aspects of game play. So the subject line is still the requirement - Original thinkers required and preferably ones with a better memory than mine.. One thing that has struck me as a possibility is an EVE cartoon or joke caption. I have spotted ' Warp Drive Active' but the 'comic' hasn't been updated since September 2009 and to be honest the comedy presented didn't really hit the spot with me anyway. Perhaps there are other more current sites and if you know of any then do me a favour and point me in the right direction for a giggle.. But just perhaps.. maybe someone out there has that unique sense of humour that can tickle everyone's funny bone. AND enough of it to maintain a regular 'comedy spot' and would like to kick off a new comedy section on our site..? |

Thank you for your interest and I'm much encouraged by a few 'raised' hands.. This includes yours Gabriel Vinoda - I liked what you have on your blog but it doesn't appear particularly EVE related and this is where we wish to focus our site. If you have some ideas for similar work with an EVE theme then we would be interested. see below on plagiarism/copyright. Albetta - If you are keen to provide something then we would be happy to post your fanfic but we would prefer if you done something specifically original for our site and the item you mention could be posted as a link to previous work. see below on plagiarism/copyright. Istvaan - sorry but all compensation will be in ISK only and you will probably be aware it is against forum rules to advertise anything that involves RL monetary rewards. If you are interested in some extra ISK or just the fun of seeing your name against a popular and much read article then contact me. see below on plagiarism/copyright. ---------------------------------------------We do not want to be accused of plagiarism or copyright theft and would rather not simply cut and paste from an existing site. Our website is not yet complete and we do not wish to 'go public' without a reasonable amount of original material on view. So until we are 'public' and if you wish to submit something then please send an email to keilsonter@eve-corporation.co.uk with either an attachment of the article or a brief note to confirm you are the copyright holder and giving us permission to use an article on your personal blog or whatever. We would publish this along with the article body. Once our website is live you will be able to submit articles directly to the site as a registered user. You can also send me an eve mail to register an interest and when I return next week I will forward details of compensation etc. As posted previously we clearly need some guidance on what would constitute reasonable fees as the figures we have posted elsewhere were ridiculed... |

I have sent you an in game message Keil. I am very interested in providing fictional short stories, and perhaps some kind of journalistic column? Can't wait to get started! |

To folks still unaware of the extent of the debacle, refer to here (Warfare & Tactics) , here (Missions and Complexes) and here (Sell Orders). Make you own conclusions. |

Well thank you Sturmwolke for keeping the otherwise defunct threads active and for your obvious interest by zealously following me around the forums. I really didn't know you were such a fan.. I'd also like to thank you for taking the time to visit our wesite which as stated is not active and has a notice predominantly displayed on the front page stating such. Any information you find will be current and relevant by the time we go live but at the moment most material displayed is simply being used as placeholders to allow us to format the design elements. Much obliged for the promotion on your part though.. I would ask any readers of this thread to definitely read the threads Sturmwolke has highlighted. We have nothing to hide and the threads will show this - notwithstanding the exaggerated claims made by Sturmwolke and others - we invite you to make your own conclusions. |

Thank you SomaPills and its encouraging to see another hand being raised despite the attentions of certain 'pests'.. I will respond to eve mail on my return to the UK which I think is now scheduled for Wednesday but may be Thursday (3rd/4th Feb). We have had a limited amount of interest shown so far and received promises of a handful of articles which is very welcome but we would really like to see our website open to view with a very healthy collection of new and original material. So please contact me if you have an interest. |

Thank you to all those who have contacted me via eve-mail.
I have responded to all inquiries and am very grateful to everyone who has contacted me to register an interest in publishing their work.
We would ask anyone interested to get in touch asap as we intend to open the website to public view in the next couple of weeks.

Hello Keil, I would love to write for your website and I eagerly raise my hand. You can check out some of my EVE related writing here on my blog. I havn't written any short stories for EVE in a while but I can supply you with a short story that I wrote recently so you can check my style and ability. An EVE mail with further information would be much appreciated. P.S. Please excuse any mistakes on the blog, they are mainly down to lazy proof reading |

Thank you both Hacca and Izzybella.
I have sent you both an eve mail with details of the website and a link to an article giving the type of material we are looking for and also get a view of the site setup to see if this appeals.
I hope you find the prospect of writing for us an interesting proposal and please let me know if you need any further information.

I'm please to announce our website is now active and accepting submissions from budding authors and 'old hacks' alike Please visit Www.Solar-Sentinel.co.uk and view 'Writing For Us' to see if it appeals. We would like to thank the authors who have already submitted or have agreed to submit in the future. Without you we will have no material and you are our most valued resource. |
