However, during November I found some time that I could play him off-peak times, and this is the resulting footage. avi at eve-files 15 minutes, 550 mb mkv at eve-files 240 mb (Thanks, Taudia!) It's pretty much every fight I have been in it that was not a straight gank and did contain explosions. I did chicken out of some fights where the odds seemed too badly stacked against me, even though I usually kicked myself for that afterwards. Those could have been truly epic. Also not included is a bait myrm that turned out to be a genuine crap-fitted 18 months old ratter with T1 drones and a pirate hurricane that had just ganked a third party rupture and got ganked in turn by me before Exeqror or battleship buddies could help him. As can be expected from this not all fights are up to the real ace's standards, but since it is an obituary I wanted it to be as complete as possible. Feedback on editing and piloting are very welcome! (I know I made several mistakes per fight, some of them hilarious, some simply frustrating. Most are commented in the little box, which is directed mainly at people who are even more noobish than me and may find them useful.) Well, I hope you enjoy! Plus the music is awesome! A very nice vid, mate! Nice overheat/module management. I enjoyed most of the music.
Trying not to spoil too much, that last fight was nervewrecking, good call with the curse. Must have felt so sweet, yet so annoying!
Would have wished it was a bit longer - Take that as a complement. Looking forward to MOAR! :) |

Good movie, liked the original music. Was a great pace.
Shame about not blowing up Siigari because he gets lucky, but we're pretty used to him making a fool of himself by now anyway. |

I actually might take you up on that, because my chronic impatience with things like blowing up red crosses or market sniping mean I actually once had to sell a battleship with Miriam in order to be able to insure the next... Unfortunately, the footage in this video is pretty much the result of a one time combination of ridiculous local holidays and dumb luck. Finding a series of five good fights with a single ship without losing it to a blob is new to me. My first two typhoons, for example, fired a combined total of 3 volleys of torps before dying an agonizing ecm'd death. But yes, the final fight is actually what made me publish the vid in the end. I felt this was something original, even though I screwed up big time. But I have rarely felt both as elated and sad after a fight, rewatching the fraps, and wanted to share that. Also, I'm seriously glad most people like the music \o/ |

May I ask which track wasn't to your liking? Also, that is interesting, because if I had had to name a clip that wasn't up to par I would have taken the drake/domi clip in Egghelende, since it basically consisted of a slowly dying Drake. Not my fault though that the Domi warped out. Now I have some specific questions. 1. Did anyone read the comments? Are they too much, too small, too pointless, too anything? Are they worth the bother? 2. In the German forums some people have told me "too bad you deagressed in the last fight, you could have killed the Abso, and the Domi was history anyway". I do agree that if I had overloaded earlier and more consistently, the Absolution probably would have died. However, I still think that at the moment the Curse showed up the fight was over and I had no way to further break the Abso's tank or even hold a point till she died, so atm I stand by my decision to deagress. Part of the idea behind the movie is to improve my piloting though, so I'd like to ask for your opinion: With the info you can get from the screen, do you think I still had a chance to kill the Absolution after the Curse had shown up? |
