If a toon is terminated does the corp that they are a part of get all their isk and all the toon's ships and toys?

I believe it is terminated with the character.

You believe wrongly. Yes, all of their stuff, including their pod, goes to the corporation they were in. If it was at an office when they were terminated it might go into the office hangars automatically, not sure on that one, but usually it goes into your assets under 'impounded', and you have to pay a fee equivalent to an office fee to get it back. In most stations it isn't worth it.

everything in your hanger and your wallet is lost when you biomass your char.

the only thing your corp gets is an evemail stating you died.

Not sure about the money or ships - I ALWAYS manually transferred THAT to the corporation - but the corporation DOES get your pod.

What that pod is good for - is beyond me - but there it is.

You cannot do a Leave Ship on your pod. The game won't let you. I cannot remember if it will let you do a Make Active on another pod though ... I have tried it ... but I don't remember what happened ... Rolling Eyes *sigh*

Having terminated several characters because of unfortunate name selections I only realized after creating the character ... I've got several of those pods ...

Ha! Ha! One of the other reasons I made a character was because I wanted some information on one of the schools bases half way across EVE ... so rather than fly someone all the way over there, I just created a new character for that faction, got my info and then biomassed her. Boy was she ugly. She didn't look that bad in the creation screen but ... ugh ... when I saw her in game portrait ... she was dooooooommmed ... Ha! Ha!

On a related note ... don't think you can just bio mass a character to get rid of their poor security standings - that is an exploit! If you've got a new character with neutral ratings - they won't care - but if you've got really bad ratings and bio mass that character - you may get contacted by CCP and banned for a while.

I have occasionally seen a pod on the directional scanner in an empty system, for example in nullsec. I always thought it was some kind of bug. NOW i have a theory... maybe people biomassed their characters who were in POS, and the capsule hung around.

Yes, you can board someone else's pod (someone who was biomassed).

I have two pods laying around from previous members of our corp. Sometimes I use them just for giggles.

As I've already stated above this is incorrect. Please don't post when you have no idea.

I have an impounded tab full to busting with rubbish that isn't worth getting out because of this mechanic. I know whereof I speak.

BZZZT* Wrong Answer.

All of the biomassed characters assets are transferred to the characters current corporation. From my experience the items are impounded and must be retrieved by someone in the corp with the appropriate roles. My current corp has 40+ stations with random worthless impounded crap due to this.
