Greetings, star pilots.
I am known as bullet, just a small, relatively unknown member of a covert organization, created by and dedicated to the taking down of what we saw as the single largest evil in eve - CVA.
The plan was hatched well over 2 years ago. Our group of RL friends was backstabbed by a high ranking CVA official, whose name I decline to mention but many of you may already be guessing (if you know, you know. Our group, by nature a very wealthy group of industrialists, was going to help fund a mass CVA invasion of nearby areas. Of course, they would do it in the name of the Amarr Empire, and we were in it to gain a large amount of wealth. However, as talks continued, it was apparent that we were the fools in this barter. CVA had no plans of invading any region, and we were being strung along, by a few high ranking individuals. The rest of the Providence coalition knew nothing about it, I suspect even the CVA officials mostly were in the shadow. Our funds dissappeared into thin air, and our contacts simply would not so much as speak to us.
We thought for a moment to make this public, but what could we do? Nobody would believe a small, relatively unknown group of empire industrialists, over a trusted, powerful, well-known and seemingly well-liked coalition. If I said to you before this, that CVA would disband, would anyone have believed me? I think not. That is when we made our pledge. We would take down CVA. We lacked firepower, so we pledged that we would do it covertly, utilizing an advantage we had - we were all owners of multiple accounts, multiple alts, and our group was bound by what most pilots in eve do not have - RL friendship that goes back for years.
You will never be able to get back at us, as we have no corporate or alliance affiliation. You do not know who we are, or where we are. Any problems I caused with this character, with an aptly ridiculous name, to fit in with the "crowd", I apologize, I decided to use this "face" as it is nearly impossible to connect with anyone. You would be surprised how valuable we found connections to seemingly small, un-notable groups are.
So for 2 years, we worked various channels, various alliances, to come to today. Today, you see our product. Enjoy.
Smells like bull**** to me. |

So infiltration or account compromise?
Sounds like infiltration to me. It doesn't take years to hack an account. I can't believe CCP didn't fix this mechanic after the BoB nonsense. |

To be honest though, my main account got hacked about 3 weeks ago by a member from a fairly large alliance, and my computer is pretty damn secure. You can only secure a computer so much without unplugging it from the web... |

Although if this was caused by a hack, it needs to be reversed.

Aren't you sort of jumping to conclusions here? Allegations of account hacking are not proof. If a spy or defector caused it, then it's legit. |

Ridiculous that STILL one single account can take down an alliance. Why isnt there a damn vote needed? I really hope this gets fixed somehow, Providence IS unique among 0.0 regions and probably the region most likely to what CCP have in mind with Dominion.

Because they basically held space for no real reason at all. They openly invited others to come and exploit their own space. The whole purpose of holding space in EVE is to exploit it yourself... why hold it... for others to exploit? Just seemed like a poor use of space (albeit subpar space) to me. Either way, I highly doubt that CCP will take action either way. If they were to reinstate CVA, they are going to have to rollback the servers, or do it VERY soon, as CVA's lack of alliance status is going to make it difficult to coordinate a response. |

No, I completely agree, my point was just that CCP surely can't sort this stuff out for people, simply because the user inadvertantly made an error on their end, completely unrelated to anything that CCP, as a company, owns. It'd be akin to someone buying a MacDonalds, walking out and then getting run over, because he didn't look before crossing the road. |

In your opinion...I'm sure they feel their own reasons are far from "no real reason at all." They may have been doing something different than most in nullsec, but I don't see how it's any less valid than what anyone else does with it. *shrug* |

Right, in my opinion. I'm entitled to dislike them if they don't play the game the way I believe it should be played. I never stated that they sucked, that they worthless, etc. just that I didn't like them all that much. |

Strange.
For doing even a tiny fart you need a 24h voting in every corp. But disbanding alliances can be done within a second.
When will CCP finally fix the lack of tools for alliance management? |

It should be game, not illegal acts thru internet.
Is it going to be that soon people hacking in ISP's and making connections lag and crash when having war each other cap fleets? Hacking is crime, thats for sure. CCP should do something about these kind of situations. Ofcourse its pretty impossible to balance what things you should get involved and which not, but example these kind of hacking problems should have somekind of backing up system. Example 2week timer when dispanding a alliance or corp, ans should have a chance to cancel that kind of acts by CCP if the situation is really caused by hacker. |

Edited by: Zarak1 Kenpach1 on 28/10/2009 20:32:49 blah blah blah reason this reason that. bottom line is the most worthless region in game under todays rules is technically one of the best come dominion. CVA had a shot of holding it all if they combined most of their in provi monkeys into their actual alliance.
And for those potential power mongerers out there. Providence currently has 37 outposts in it last time i checked.
