overall which has a better lineup? ive been looking at faction and t2

zeal-fotm decent sniper bout all i see good about it
sac-good tank decent damage vs bigger targets
pilg/curse-good solo and small gang can tear up frigs
omen navy issue-close to zeal damage but with less range and a drone bay

phantasm-badass looking lot of mids for either decent buffer or utility

eagle-fail sniper
cerb-can snipe but damage delay or decent dps close with hams but no buffer(think sac may be better)
rook-looks like a solopwnmobile with ecm and bit of dps
falcon-boring but usefull

any other ships? what do you think would be best to focus on amarr or caldari? have gun skills no missle but missles are not super skill intensive

The cerb is actually an excellent hac.

Hint: use hml, buffer and always sit outside of the engagement (yet close enough so the missile delay will not be too significant)

16 days for t2 HAMs and i see 14 total ranks of skills for unguided support

17 days for t2 med turrets (i already have the support so would be more from 0 sp) and a total of 19 ranks
Not a huge difference but gunnery does take more sp.To get support to 4 and t2 hams with spec 4 would be under a month.

gunnery has more support skills even if t2 mediums are about the same as t2 heavies.

You've missed out the BC's which run off the same skill sets and give you *FAR* more bang for your buck then the HACs.

Caldari
Ferox - Good solo boat
Drake - OK DPS on HAMs massive buffer.

Amarr
Proph - not so good
Harb - Probably the best BC going atm but not by much, massive buffer and DPS.

Before we start off anything, what exactly are you aiming to achieve? Nothing in this game is "better" than anything else, they all just fill different roles.

Zealot: Mobile gang DPS platform. Quite powerful in big gangs

Sac: Terrible HAC (as shown by the Deimos, HACs with close range weaponry do very poorly). 5 low slots either means it tanks alright and do no damage, or the other way around.

Pilgrim/Curse: I'm not really much of a fan of the Pilgrim, but the Curse is one of the most feared ships in game. What it can't kill with Neuts/Tracking Disruptors it can outrun.

Omen Navy Issue: Lack of range hurts it. Inside web range its a woefully inadequate and the Zealot does better at the kiting role.

Phantasm: In general, better than the Navy Omen. Shield buffer allows it to be quite quick/nimble.

Eagle is the farthest shooting gun HAC. Not that shabby all together

Cerb: Should never be fit with HAMs. If you can work around the damage delay (as in, not in FOTM long range HAC gangs) it is by far the best longrange HAC in game.

Rook: Not a solo pwnmobile. Even on dedicated ECM ships, relying on ECM purely to tank generally ends up poorly for said pilot, and devoting less slots to ECM is wasting the ship.

Yeah, but BCs don't require cruiser 5 - either to fly, or for their bonuses. Both Drake and Harbinger are awesoe, with Ferox and Prophecy being turkeys.

For 'cruiser 5':
HAC in general are a bit niche.
Zealot is very nice, as is the Sacrilege.
Cerberus and Eagle are awesome long range platforms - which is great when you have a need for long range platforms - cerb in particular deals insane DPS for a 250km ship... if you can use it.

In general, Zealot/Sacrilege are better general purpose ships.

Logistics - Both Guardian and Basilisk are very nice, but generally armour tanking is preferred - especially in BS sizes, less so at cruiser size.

Recons:
Curse/Pilgrim are good solo/small gang.
Falcon/Rook are also very nice, but not as brutally overpowered as once. They actually though, remain very valuable in larger gangs too.

Command ships - Nighthawk is an awesome mission runner, Absolution is a good PvP boat.
Damnation/Vulture are pretty similar - both with god like tanks and ganglinks, just depends on if you prefer armour or shield.
