I run several accounts all from their own folder and every time there's an update I have to DL the update content and then install it. For small updates, like the one we have today, this is not really an issue but it's still crap. With big updates/expansions it gets @#$#@ing annoying having to re download the data 6 times... Updating one and then copying it over to the other folders gets kinda annoying as well due to file size and preferences.
Isn't there some sort of exe file the update is DLed to which I can then execute several times? Or any other solution? |

When you have completed updating the first client, note there is a checkbox at the end "clean up downloaded data". Uncheck that checkbox.
When you update the next client it will still download the update bootstrapper (932 kB) since each client has its own cache directory, but then the updater for the 2nd client will re-use the downloaded content from the 1st client.
Repeat as needed until you update the last client and then leave the checkbox checked to clean up. |

I've been just killing the OOG downloader and downloading the manual patch file, although I'm upgrading 4 clients across 2 PC's |

Just out of curiosity...
Why don't you just have one client that you start twice? I do that and it works for me. Is there any benefit of not having the clients in the same folder? |

If you run something like eve launcher to open two or more accounts and maximize them to the monitors your want, you cant use one exe directory, they have to be differant directories.
Also, if you happen to play about or something goes wrong and one directory gets corrupted, the other one or how ever many will still work, all the settings etc wont be lost.
Downside, takes up a lot more room on the hard disk. |
