Wow...what a movie...my mind is a bit blown...so damn good... See it soon, but don't end up like the horrified WW2 vet sitting across the aisle from me, sure that the film was a herald of the apocalypse; it's NOT for the squeamish. Leave the grandparents and kids at home!  D9 last week, IB this week, it's been a great month for geeky flicks. |

My dad n I want to see this but in no way are we expecting historical accuracy, we are expecting a film that only Quentin Torintino can make and he does make some excellent films. In fact to this day Reservoir Dogs and Desperado are still 2 of my favorites from him.
Maybe we'll catch it when we head to California tomorrow if we make it there at a decent hour. |

I thought it was absolutely brilliant. The opposite end of the realism spectrum to Saving Private Ryan / Schindler's List, but it was really great fun. Very gory. |

I didn't expect anyone to use the words "my mind is a bit blown" to describe this film. From the trailer, it looks like a silly action film (not strictly a bad thing) along the lines of "From Dusk Till Dawn" except with ****s instead of Undead and no Salma Hayek. Tarantino...I wasn't too impressed by Jackie Brown -> Kill Bill and didn't even watch that one with the woman-with-a-machine-gun-leg. I think I'll give this one a miss, maybe it's worth a downl...rental... |

Kill Bill was meh, but I thought Jackie Brown was pretty good. Not as great as Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs, but still, a decent quality film. |

You'll be surprised. 95% of the film is dialogue. However, it's meaningful, tense stuff, not that crap from 'Death Proof' (A definate Tarantino screwup). The violence is always sudden and sharp, and over in a few seconds. |

I didn't think it was particularly great. The characters were mildly interesting but not a scratch on Pulp Fiction. Samuel L., even Mr. De Niro didn't really shine. Ah...now this is a critique I can appreciate Perhaps if the OP had written this instead my reaction woulda been quite different. May well check it out sooner rather than later.  I just got back to Blighty after a month in the USA/Canada, so I've already watched anything worth watching in the cinema while I was there. As we're months behind it's unlikely there'll be anything else to see for a while.  |

Tarantino is a ****** who shouts "COOL!!!!" every time things are amazingly overdone, out of proportion or just plain silly. I honestly can't watch any of his movies without being annoyed to hell and back and have to go do something else after 5 minutes.
