AUVERGNE -- 15:45 GST Alone in her prized and well cared for Gallente Navy Comet, Siigari Kitawa plots a course to home. After traveling one jump and noticing that it's going to take her through 6 0.9-1.0 systems, she feels a slight hesitation. She moves to her map and ticks "prefer less secure" and notices that it will 17 jumps as opposed to the highsec 13. She mutters "this is probably a bad idea". She jumps into Yulai, her security hovering at -2.44. The first com transmission when entering is spoken: "Siigari Kitawa, Criminals are not welcome here. Leave now or be destroyed." CONCORD is typically a welcoming bunch, unless you're of the criminal persuasion, then they take fun and games to a whole new level. Kitawa, aligning her Navy Comet to the next gate is pinged by CONCORD. She checks her dashboard and notices "Global Criminal Countdown**" appear on her screen and slightly panics. "Oh no..." Kitawa shrieked, "I knew this was a bad idea!" Warping to the gate, Kitawa had only moments to think of a plan. She instinctively turned on her full overlay and began plotting a warp course through moons and planets. With Yulai being approximately 50 AU across in distance, there was the slight possibility that she would be able to lose CONCORD in her ion trail. She landed on the outbound gate. Without even attempting to jump, she quickly warped to a moon about 40 AU away from the gate. CONCORD was on her tail. Landing just moments after her, she managed to get away by mere nanoseconds as she entered warp, leaving CONCORD behind to analyze her next move. Five minutes later, the tension was beginning to rise for Kitawa. She had been lucky so far, but things were not looking up. Making some small warps from moon to moon to make a better align out spot to warp to a distant planet, CONCORD had been gaining ground on her warps. "[CENSORED]", Kitawa exclaimed, "I'm really not going to make this!" She looked at the Yulai Graveyards, and thought to herself that would be a fitting place for her Navy Comet to rest. However, Kitawa had resolve. "No," she stated firmly as she began to get ready for her next warp, "I am going to get this ship out in one piece. Come on baby, you can do it." She patted her dashboard and quickly made it away from CONCORD once again. Time was ticking. Over the course of the next 10 minutes, Kitawa had began to get a pattern down to evade CONCORD's warp beacons. By warping to a distant planet or moon, CONCORD's warp speed cannot keep up. Because a Navy Comet warps at 6 AU/second and a CONCORD SWAT officer warps at only 3, it made sense to warp as far away as possible.. keeping a healthy distance away from the police. As the Global Criminal Countdown timer disappeared from her dash, she exclaimed exuberantly in the local com channel - to CONCORD's distress - and then left the system, emitting a heart-shaped puff of exhaust from her engines as she jumped out. :) ** Note: It is a known issue for CONCORD to flag you as global if you are shot at by a CONCORD officer while in transit through a highsec system with a low security rating. Video of the exciting last few moments here. |

Well, aside of evading CONCORD being an exploit since a few years, you have to keep in mind that CONCORD has its own charter based on the security status system of capsuleers. Which pretty much comes down to "if it is below 0 you either are or are well on your way to being a criminal", which translates into "we as Concord will either shoot you ourselves or when possible we will let you trip so the regular cops can get a kill too". The last thing being something they only pull off under their own sovereignty. It is not a known issue. It is by design. Kudos for holding on long enough for the timer to wear off, that is much more then can be said by all the other wannabee negative sec status l33t or borderline criminal capsuleers who just get tired of making *effort* |

nice write up but with only a -2.44 only the local police chase if you are global flagged gate guns and concord fry you at uncloaking. But still nice to see a good post done here. |

Correct. I should have worded that better. |

By design. There are consequences for negative sec status. To be honest, for me it's only served to push me down even further |

Except the GCC CONCORD is the whoop-ass kind. That said you can evade them in a ship that aligns and warps sufficiently quickly. Not sure why this is deserving of its own RP-heavy thread though, you can do this in a shuttle or any inertia-stabbed frigate if you are so inclined (just as long as you don't pick a warp destination that is 180 degrees from the way you came). ps. Evading CONCORD is an exploit. |

(OOC) Read the OP before replying. Evading CONCORD SWAT is _NOT_ an exploit, it's a POLICE force like any faction Police / Navy / Customs, just a damn lot stronger and faster. You should only get a normal aggrotimer from CONCORD SWAT, but nope... I do hope CCP fixes that sometime. (IC) If you Mr. Durzel would have taken a glance at your starmap you'd noticed that Yulai IS CONCORD Sovereign territory, and they have their own police force CONCORD SWAT patrolling at gates. It is a widely know flaw in the electronic matrix that pod pilots with low security status - like Siigari here - will be flagged for Global Criminal Status in CONCORD Sovereign territory. Also CONCORD SWAT is pretty fast to target and lock, to the point where they make normal faction police AND navies look like boy scouts on a field trip. I have personal experience in this matter too sadly. The only option is pretty much to avoid those certain systems in Genesis region which are CONCORD Sovereign territory. Sadly avoiding them is sometimes impossible because there is no alternative route available short of owning your own capital ship and just leap froggin the whole High Security space all together. |

the story would be cooler if you couldnt just petition and get your ship back if you lost it. |

I was full of glee after finding out that Ventrilo can auto-adjust volume in case something very loud is about to hit you. It does help make Siig's reactions bearable. Or you just set the volume to perma-low and thus only hear something in case important stuff is about to happen. ;o Regarding the thread: Are the Concord-"sitting on a gate"-Navy guys the same as the Concord-"Imma gank you, *****!"-spawn-police guys? Technically I mean, not from appearance or naming. :o Aside from that, I'm not sure how to feel about the story. It's not naughty enough to arouse me and I'm not sure how to feel about the statement of you - Miss Kitawa - having a dashboard in your pod, either. I mean: What if you break it while "patting" it and pod-fluids get inside, thus unleashing the mighty fury of Megawatts, the God of Machines?! I find this quite outrageous and disturbing to be honest. It shows a lack of respect for traditional engineering conventions and is to be considered heresy. I'll get some cake now to calm me down. Have a nice day. |

Which is by design, not a flaw. Their sovereignty, so they get to stick to their charter, their rules. Which means anything with any negative sec status is bad. Granted EVE doesn't have a manual so finding out the first time sucks a bit, but hey that goes for 90% of **** happens scenarios in EVE. Once you learn it, you deal with it. It's like the silly thread in the AH section. Concord and its subsiduaries have their own turf, with their own rules, and while they cannot go all the way and do as they please they do sometimes (the GCC is a random event) stick out their leg so you trip and get nailed by the cops. Unless you make some effort to work around it. Originally by: Rin Kaeda

It's Concord and all their fancy technologies, while we get happy with T2 and T2 they have much, much better toys. Unfair to live in a world where the authorities have better guns then the crooks :/ Originally by: Rin Kaeda

Plenty of routes are available tbh. They just go through high and low sec and take us a bit longer. *effort* There are downsides to having negative sec status. Kinda figures. |
