All I see in WoD is an evil plot to make all the Twilight fangirls play MMO's. Crokite mine ensues.

I am 100% sure that it is impossible to make a WOD MMORPG that captures the true fun behind that roleplaying setting.
I mean how would you implement the Djihad into a Multiplayer game? Eve is full of ****bags scamming etc. But they are doing that over ISK and similar.
I mean you would need to have every damn NPC in the game being actively played by someone because code can't plot against someone [if it isn't prescripted] and that woudln't be fun in a MMORPG....a Singleplayer game with nice storyline etc....sure but MMO?
Im curious how CCp would want to solve that, BUT I doubt it is possible. |

Just a notice...
I am sure that MMO will be based on 3rd edition, not 2nd.
Simply because 3rd is official now.
So no Camarila, Jihad, and so on...
Start learning 3rd ed. already.
P.S. Tis a wierd actualy. 3rd itself is a bit old already (5 years). It more likely WW should release 4th ed soon.
Perhaps we'll get a suprise by seeing 4th edition at same time in P&P and MMO...
P.P.S. And of course, there none PnP RPG is possible to fully integrate in MMO.
So as anythere else we'll see roleplayers, and everyone else. But i have belive in CCP that they will make it better then other MMOs (exclude EVE) |

I started playing the World of Darkness RPG when 1st Ed Vampire hit the makerts in the early 90s. Considering that WW and CCP are using the newest iteration of the system for thier new MMO, I think most of the lil fangals of that badly written piece of crap will not want to play this MMO, but hopefully they will not find out how different it is till after they buy the game, heh. I can see it now. Twilight Fan: "I created a vampire! I am cool like Twilight!! I can go outside in the daytime!!!" "FOOOOOSHHHH" -- Vampire burns into cinders and ash. People need to remember that World Of Darkness does not necessarily mean just Vampires. Its the name for the whole setting. I could see Hunters/Vampires/Werewolves being done fine, but how on earth are they going to make Mage. People with the power to literally alter reality on a whim? Or Mummies?

You know...REQUIEM is NOT a 3rd edition its kinda a new system alltogether 3rd Edition was the REVISED edition of Masquerade btw, so you know and ADDITIONALLY if its called Danse Macabre or Djihad I dont ****ing care. The concept of the game is similar between Masquerade and Requiem they only changed clans because they lost the rights to the names AND they wanted to squeeze more money out of anyone that couldn't use old stuff. It doesn't invalidate my point. The german amrket is dead for Requiem, everyone I know stayed with Masquerade, so whatever. edit: The new WOD only consists of Mages, Werewolves and Vampires, I think changelings came out, too but I am doubtful they converted the other stuff so whatever.... |

WoD is only another Eve expansion. It will take place on a certain planet within the Eve universe, people can charter a special shuttle in that solar system, that can land on the surface of that planet. Because of some odd magnetic field around that planet, hitech stuff from new Eden doesn't work there, so that you can't kill vampires or werewolves with laser small arms. This system also is a trading hub, for exchanging Eve isk for WoD gold, and concord ensures that no one starts an orbital bombardment |

1) Chribba loses his reason for playing the game. Quits. 2) Soon, Chribba shuts down EVE-Files, EVE-Search, EVE-Agents, EVE-Offline, and a few other less known sites graciously hosted by Chribba. 3) Unable to find level 4 mission agents easily, mission runners everywhere suffer mental breakdowns and quit the game. Economy crashes due to a massive salvage/loot/ISK shortage. 4) Due to the lack of minerals from reprocessed loot, tritanium prices skyrocket. Miners everywhere rejoice. And then they remember that Veldspar no longer exists and they weep bitterly. 5) Lack of minerals causes EVE's industrial base to grind to a halt. PvPers eventually lose their ships and can not replace thier ships (or pay massively to replace them). 6) EVE reduces itself to frigate/rookie ship brawls (enter Ibis of DOOM). AFAIK somethere was mentioned that MMO will contain vampires, werewolwes, and mages as playable factions. No hunters though (and no wonder, hunters hate all supernaturals). Mages are cool at 3rd ED, although vamps and ww also good... About mages. Well, i gues all mages will be able just to 'cast' thier rotes, so no free improvised spells. Although may be rituals will be available... |
