Does the two-ship limit apply to tech3 ships equally? Technically a "Proteus" is just a hull, not a ship. Or will they still be limited despite the fact that they have various configurations? I.E., you can only field 2 Proteuses?

Some feedback. tl;dr? Reduce the point values of cruisers with t1 resists.

Since the 2-ship limitation is already in effect, I suggest you decrease the faction cruiser point value by 1. With the current point values, they are no way viable compared with recon ships, HICs or even tier 1 BCs. This is especially true with the arrival of logistics on the scene, since faction cruisers do not have tech 2 resists, they are less than optimal for remote assistance.

Normal tech 1 cruiser point value is also too high, and I'd reduce it down to 10 or even 9. I can understand the reason for this high point value in terms of limiting cruiser spam, but tier 1 BCs are just better not only because of hit points, damage output, and tanking/resistance bonuses but because they can run one or more gang warfare links.

tl;dr reduce the point values of cruisers with t1 resists.

When will you make something like this but for individual pilots? I've been wanting to participate in something like that for years. There are player created tournaments, but players have to fight against the game mechanics to be able to organize them.

Mh, haulers eh? This could be interesting...an ittyV full with cap boosters could be a nasty, nasty surprise if your setup relieas on them.

i suspect in such case the itty wreck will be primary, I thought of this myself but bringing and indy with cap booster you will just get primaried and wreck killed before your team has actually used any cap boosters. of course tons of cans with 5 boosters in each would make the job a lot tougher. On the other hand that could lag up the fight which is not good obviously, therefore id suggest the ccp staff take a close look at that.

Also, rule 7 in Place & Tactics is a bit harsh for disconnects or client crashes (yes, Eve isn't perfect).

Quote:

7. If a player warps out/leaves the arena, his/her ship will be destroyed. This includes disconnection emergency warps.

How about doing what was done several years ago when Lemonde was running the tournament -- one or more Arazus with several warp disruptors to disrupt all ships on field, so that disconnects and client crashes wouldn't determine the outcome of a match?

Or even better, have a tournament-use-only invisible 125km radius warp disruption bubble anchor instantly before the countdown, but after teams have warped in.

Puh-leeeeeeeeeeze put all the matches in HD on youtube - its the only way most of us get to watch and last year's coverage was made of awesome sauce.

How about not giving info out in local this year to prevent confusion. Also, every effort should be made to continue matches even with miner rule breaches.

Seriously guys, will you PLEASE remove the restriction on COSMOS modules already?

1. They aren't as wtfpwn as faction or officer modules, or even tech 2 they simply allow for some crafty fits.

2. The tournament is really the only time there is any demand whatsoever for the modules.

3. They don't cost **** in a bucket compared to deadspace or officer gear.

It is really obnoxious that these modules are disallowed, it doesn't even remotely affect cost of entry it just allows pilots to show off truly ingenious fitting skills as well as PvP prowess. I really hope you guys will look into this.

Also, I know that in Alliance Tournament VI, the FW alliances participated. I'm assuming that they will this year, but will they still have to pony up two billion isk? And will they be automatically selected from the draw, or will, say, only the Calamari and Minmatar participate?

This is a pretty huge "F*%& you" to FW. Last year each FW team got a slot and this year they get absolutely nothing. With the lack of support, fixes or anything at all being done to FW this makes me sad as FW was supposed to be a huge deal but you are brushing it aside as if you just don't care about them anymore.

Also, here is wranglers second link, but it now works!

Lastly, if t1 haulers are allowed then why not allow t2 haulers or hell why not allow orcas? Might as well go full bore insane and let jump freighters in on the action while we are at it.

Lol. THIS!
Hulks and orcas please, it would be legendary. Provided they will have no restrictions, apart from T2 rigs, on how you fit them.

Edit: damn forum logged me out again.

I'd say that's probably because of some of the FW team-leaders(Which were selected by who could capture the most complexes) threw a fit and basically took the whole system as ransom.

I agree. At least allow us to bring T2 haulers. I'd say lower T1 haulers to 2 points and have T2 haulers at 3 points.

lolwhut? Destroyers cost less points than frigs and haulers?

This proves how serious a need for an overhaul is

Destroyers have historically ranked below frigates in the points scheme, but seeing them outranked by haulers is shameful. Sadly, haulers are more useful - at least they have enough grid to achieve a 20k EHP tank and have the mid slots/CPU needed to fit loads of ewar.

Some fun facts:

  • There are 23,262,818 ways of choosing a mix of ship classes to make a legal team (e.g. 4x Faction Battleship, 1x T2 Battlecruiser), and even more if you consider all the different possible combinations of ships within each class.
  • Of these, 7,726,128 would have enough points / slots left over for at least 1 more ship and can be discarded.
  • That still leaves 15,536,690 'full' teams, which might actually be used.
  • Among these, there are 700,950 possible choices which use the full 100 points and 10 ships available.
  • Of these, some 182,096 include the single permitted logistics ship.
  • Refining further, 57,628 of these also include at least 1 command ship
  • Refining still further, only 24,321 of these do not contain any destroyers or haulers.
  • Except for the example given earlier, there is only 1 other valid class composition for a 5-ship team that takes up the full 100 points.

There has been a focus in the rules this round on promoting the use of larger ships. For 6-man teams, there are only 32 'full' class compositions that include at least 1 command ship, 1 logistics and 0 destroyers / haulers. Of these, 16 use the full 100 points.

I completely agree with Atiana about the COSMOS modules. For stuff that is discounted as total trash by the majority of the community this restriction is pretty ridiculous.

It allows for odd fits, supports the people who have trained their butts off to produce COSMOS mods that frankly don't really sell, and they aren't even remotely as powerful as faction, deadspace, or officer gear. As Rika said, most of them totally suck compared to T2, but T2 is allowed.
