I was bought EVE for my birthday last week. I think it's a great game but i am seriously stuck. I'm trying to complete a mission called "Mountains into mole hills" It's very very early in the game.
I have to go to an asteroid belt & mine 1665 units of Veldspar & deliver to the agent. I have made 5 trips to the asteroid belt & returned 5 times. I now have the correct amount of Veldspar in my hanger in the correct location but when I click on Complete mission I get a message that the mission isn't complete. I have know idea what to do please help me

Make sure all units are in one stack (click and drag them on top of eachother).

Just to clarify - the station where your hangar is, with the 1665 units of Veldspar in, is the exact same station your mission agent is at?

Is there anything else on your objectives, like kill the NPC rats or something?

check your journal and make sure your agent doesent say drop off veldspar at another location. Make sure the veldspar is stacked. Next time just buy the veldpsar on the market if you want to complete this quickly.

If you are at the agents location you are prolly in the wrong place.
Head to the destination specified in your journal.

The objective in that mission gets fulfilled when the asteroid at the location you got is mined out. he has exactly 1665 veldspar in it, however he does not show up in the default overview settings, try loadiing the default mining overview settings, he shows up there. otherwise just try clicking asteroids at the location until you find the one with veldspar.

the combat carrier path contains a mission that explains how to use and configure overview settings, you can also start the tutorial from the help menu.

Note that if you get Veldspar from any other asteroid, the mission won't complete. You must mine out the mission asteroid.

Careful about buying stuff, some newbie missions tends to make you actualy mine all minerals as there is also triger for completion when mine out roid with exact amount in it that you need. It was in some x/10 introduction missions but dont remember which one.

You've mined the veldspar? Check
You're at the right station? Check

Only one thing again matey. Read the mission details again. You have to kill any bandits at the encounter location. There's two of them I think. Kill them and you are done. Hope this helps.

If it's the mission I'm thinking of, you have to mine the veldspar at the encounter location that is given you in the mission, not at any random belt in the system. I made a similar mistake when I mined veld, but then the guy didn't accept it cause I didn't get it at the desired location.

This is the way it works with regular mining missions too - you have to mine X units out of the specific asteroid that is spawned for the mission.

You may already have the veldspar in your cargo hold. Veld that you bought off the market. But some missions require the mission asteroids to be mined regardless.

You may have to fly out to the mission location and mine the veldspar, even though you already have enough.

And just in case you're wondering how to get to the exact asteroid demanded by the mission, you can right-click on "space" once you've undocked and click on the mission name at the bottom of the context-sensitive menu. Find "Warp to Location" and click that.

I concur with everyone else: Mine the astroid specified by the agent.

There are missions (both tutorial and regular) where the agent says "I don't care where you get..." Then, you're free to mine or buy the ore at your discretion.

When you leave the station to do these missions, just right-click anywhere in "empty space" and select the mission -> warp to this location. You will warp to the asteroid you need to mine (or be taken to a null space accelerator of the mission is in NS). You must mine that asteroid for the ore. I made the same mistake as you - got my veldspar from any-old-asteroid field and could not complete because the "09 ?system?" part of the mission was not done.

Hope this helps.

You're joking, right? Right click any item and click stack all.
