In theory we can create up to 3 characters, which is not a lot but enough. However, just a single character is able to learn SP skills. Learning SP is one of the most important and critical actions in EVE. Which renders the creation of any additional characters on same account as good as useless. As i heard, it takes 21 years to learn all the skills a character is able to learn. So its pretty unrealistic having several characters learning one after another, thats simply impossible by common sense. I just would like to ask, whats the idea behind this? Buy another character and add it to your account?

Works well enough for alt accounts, cyno alt, freighter alt and industry alt. First two takes a very short time to train up, then you can work on your industry alt from then on.

In any other MMORPG game can you level up all your charachters at the same time?

hey hey

you dont need to train ALL those skills. ugh

even if you maxed out a specific career you can get great results with minimum sp.

if you choose a single race and a single set of weapons as a speciality then you can really save on SP and with about 10mil gunnery your totally competent with both flavors of TII i know people with 20mil+ in gunnery but being projectile based i doubt i'l ever pop more than 12mil sp there.

you could use your other character slots as research alts and you can run 4/5 science jobs with less than 2mil SP im not sure what the max hulk pilot comes out but its not alot and a pretty fast train when going for a specific set of skills

Depending on the pilot's purpose, you can level one in EVE in 1 day.

In WoW it doesnt work, however, it will take you lesser than a year to level all 10 character classes to 80 in term you level them in a hardcore way. Wink

That wasn't the question though: in what other MMORPG can you level up all your characters at the same time.

But to be "Good" against other characters specialised into their character it will take you much longer.

Same counts for EVE. You need to earn a lot of ISKs, to get you better ships, modules and especially the very very expensive rig modules. And i suggest to build up faction points which is rewarding aswell.

Im not sure if there was something wrong. The rig modules can cost 100 million ISK, a single piece of it if i'm right. And a pirate can blast your butt and all those modules will be gone as soon as the final shoot got you. Im not using any of those rigs, i simply cant afford.

Im not sure. Its not even enough to get marketing to max level, which is 1 purpose. Razz And preferably all the affected trade skills should be maxed.

Well in this one you have to make meaningful choices and long term plans, and then live with the consequences. How about that?

Who cares about level 80 (or whatever) when you can powerlevel it in a few weeks?

Living with consequences isnt a problem, im good at planning, i just need to know the system. But i finally found 2 good things for using a alternate character:
1. Trading based skills can be learned in a few weeks, when done so, the trading-power will be doubled.
2. Detecting pirate campers without much loss.

3. Getting an alt spy into an enemy corporation.
4. Hauling character, I use one to get stuff from A to B on idle mode. This enables me to haul stuff long ways without needing to jump back when I want to do a mission or something else.
5. Character with decent enough standings with a locator agent, no need to travel to the agent station when in need of a locator service.

Remember also that you can trade ISK for characters belonging to other players, in which case alt slots are very useful.

Why wouldn't you put them all on one alt, and have jump clones everywhere? It would seem to save on learning time.

OP: EVE is not like 'other mmo's', nor does it need to be. Yes you can level up a character to max level in a month in wow, but wow is also an extremely basic game that is light on complexity where EVE is leaps and bounds more complicated and as such lends itself to a more involved skill system.

So your point is that all other MMORPG's suck because your done the game in one month and EvE is never ending? I'll agree with that statment.

You can train an alt to operational level within 1-2 months, probably less.

Or you can train one single skill to 5 in the same amount of time.

If you want trained up characters, buy one with ISK.
