Quote:
In the name of free trade there really should be a neutrality to a trade HUB like Jita.
All I wonder is why shouldn't the major trade hub of the game be the sovereignity of a faction whom is: Quote: A state built on corporate capitalism, the Caldari State is run by a few mega-corporations which divide the state between them, controlling and ruling every aspect of society. Each corporation is made up of thousands of smaller companies, ranging from industrial companies to law firms. All land and real estate is owned by a company which leases it to the citizens, and government and policing are also handled by independent companies.

And the problem is?
People who choose to keep their security status up and ensure they are not KOS to the Caldari State can use Jita. Those who choose to grind some standings with Caldari Navy can increase their profit margins a bit.
Or players can choose not to do these things. In which case they should accept the consequences of lower profits, or having no access to Jita. |

what would be the cut off for being called a trade hub? Would CCP make the call or would we vote on it? Could I just have what ever system I have orders up in called a trade hub? I don't see the point of changing the faction at station based on people wanting to trade there.

some of the factors that make Jita so strong even with this biased trade barrier is the fact that margin trading population in other words profession traders are not in high population numbers. The other is that our low number of orders and relative high escrow demands makes market order saturation and thus price equilibriums suffering.
The growth of secondary hubs is restricted by these two factors.
Profession Traders
Potential active orders.
Without this Jita will be king, and thus the Caldari racial bias seem unfair to traders of the other races. Claiming alt solution to do a work around is bad for a number of reasons. First is storyline/backstory never claimed Caldari ruled the universal trade. Second from an rp perspective being forced to work for Caldari to have fair trade is wrong. Third any type of workaround solution is destructive to emersion into the game. Just like the High Sec POS corp evacuation is the lamest workaround we have..
On the weird comment about when a Hub is deemed a HUB.. This issue would not be relevant if there was 3 semi equal HUB active.. This is only relevant because Jita is clearly the center of trade w up to 3 times more active docked at all times.

Repeating your fallacious reasoning time and time again won't make it any more true. I'll just pick out this little gem: Originally by: Caleb Ayrania from an rp perspective being forced to work for Caldari to have fair trade is wrong.
From a RP perspective having to pay higher fees as a Gallente loyalist in Caldari space makes perfect sense. |

In RL such a protectionist and barrier heavy market would not survive competition wise. It only does so due to game mechanic misbalance. Critical mass being its main/only advantage. |
