If I start training a 512k sp skill when I have 1.59 mil SP, does the entire skill training receive the 100% speed bonus or just the first 10,000 sp of the skill?

Some people claimed it used to be at double speed all the way, but it seems that they were EITHER wrong, OR the devs plugged the bug. So nowadays, it would only be the first 10k SP in that particular case. |

your best bet would be to see for yourself. if you lose bonus after 1.6, you can always pause training and do something else. in a day or two, i'll be starting some training again, and will post results. |

Yes, it does work.
I have started logic 5 at 1.56m sp and, until today, I got the whole 100% bonus aka 4000 sp/hour. Sadly, I think it's because I added a new skill to the queue as it was almost done, it registered the trained skill points and I lost the bonus :(
Oh well... it doesn't matter :P 9 days to learn logic 5 and eidetic memory 5 is good enough :P |

yes, it works. I tested it on my miner alt. I start to learn barge V before 1,6m and now at the end of the skill is still having double time training. Remember don't pause the skill... If not you lost the double time (if you are over 1,6m) |

I took it as a feature for my alt.. I got Hull Upgrades level 5 out of it. This was just last week too so unless it was fixed in that last little patch it still works. I consider it payback and not a glitch, because I lost about a day of training due to the que bug where your skill un-trains. I had a skill training to LVL 4 and the next day the whole skill was back to zero. If I have to take the bad, I'll damn sure take advantage of the good. |

Well, don't worry, neither does CCP I mean, heck, they touted "ghost training" as a feature, and then when it got too widely used, they backpedaled, claimed it was actually a widely exploited bug, then "fixed" that bug I say, as long as they don't officially deem it an exploit, consider it a feature, and hope they don't fix it soon. |

When this happens DO NOT train that skill again. Keep training oher skills and petition it. CCP will set that skill back to lvl 4 in a short™ time. If you start training it again, then they will not be able to do it and you effectively lose the training. |

as promised, some results.

these were made couple of days ago (see at the pic bottom). i have no reason to believe situation is changed. and my petition is still unanswered.
why double training speed works this way is simple. eve doesn't know how much skill points your character has as long as there is training going on. ticking number in skill list is just fluff for show. it's calculated estimate.
when training is started, eve calculates when it will finish and sets a trigger at that time. as long as training is not stopped (skill completes, training is paused or queue is modified), trigger will happen as scheduled.
eventually, ccp may decide this is a bug, and fix it (setting trigger at 1.6mil). meh. use it while you can. you only get to do it once per character anyway. well, you COULD pod nuke yourself without a medical, but, yeah, that's pushing it. |
