Was going to roll up a second account but can I send myself a 21 day trial key and then activate the code in the retail box to get the bonus ship, faction, and the game time?

When I go to the website in the install it implies you have to create a new account to claim the item.

"If you purchased the EVE Online retail box and would like to create a new EVE Online account, click here. The account you create will automatically have the game time code and all bonus items and features applied to it."

I've searched around for other topics on it and it all seems very vague.

You will need to make a choice:

1) Get the free shuttle and certificate.
or
2) Get a trial 21 days for you new account and a bonus 30 days for your main account.

The special items are only available for accounts that are newly created using the code. You can only take advantage of one promotional bonus.

Awesome. Clear, direct, to the point, and fast response. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

So if my math is right that makes it cost $30.50 for a shuttle and a certificate if you are making a second character.

Two months with the trial straight up will cost you $35.
Two months with the box costs you $40.

With the trial you get 51 days at .50/day, so you get another $25.50 from the trial.

So the 25.50 from the trial + the 5 dollars you would lose buying the box = $30.50.

Seems like an easy decision heh.

If you are going for the game time, just use a Credit Card: it is cheeper (if you aren't in the EU) and it will save you needing to file a petition to get the free 30 days on your main account (I have heard that there is a bug where the free time is not automaticly applied if the account is activated using a game code.)

One thing you may try...

Once you've logged into the game, if you press ESC to bring up your Settings window, there's a new button on the bottom for "Redeem Item"...you may try entering your code there, in the client itself.

Can't say that it works myself, as I haven't bought the retail box...but think it's worth a try.

If it works, you could then use the GTC as you wish.

Just so I can be clear on this, I want to create another 3 accounts so that I spread my alts around and train them up, if I create 3 trial accounts and then use GTC to make them regular subscriptions will I get 90 days added bonus days in my main account? Is this under CCP rules? I don't want to be doing something against the rules, and am a bit confused about this since it states send your "Buddies" invite, does not say you can do it to yourself!
As a final note I'm also confused about the trial account, bare with me pleaseSmile with it you get 21 days if you use a 60 day GTC on the very 1st day will your account days be at 81 days left?

Thank you for any help.

This do not work, you have to create a new account in order to claim the Shuttle. If you try using the code on an existing account, you will get the message to do a new account and you will be route to the new account screen.

I've only been playing for not quite 2 months now, but I can say 100% for sure that "Redeem Item" button was there before the patch, when I first installed the game I remember specifically wondering what it was for and finding out it was for ETC or other "special offers from CCP", its not something new with Apocrypha though so I wouldn't presume its in any way tied in to the retail box offer per-se unless you have seen something from CCP suggesting this is the case.
