First time in a wormhole:

Scanned one down in highsec and went in with 2 BCs and a cruiser. Everyone had a core launcher fitted. Scanned down a LADAR site among others. Mined some gas and checked out some other sites. Blew up a few Sleepers. Had somone in a covops jump in and snoop around but nothing happened from his side. Then one of us had to leave, so we called it a day. Hauled the gas off and left the wormhole system.

It wasn't anything spectacular but still quite interesting, checking new things out, knowing that the wormhole could collapse any time or some other people could come in looking for some killmails.

We'll probably be doing more of it with better organization and numbers.

day 1:

Vackris, Jin, and I arrived in our first wormhole system and took caution immediately. Quickly we set up a safespot and planned our move. After assaulting a few sleepers we have found some of the new components necessary to creating t3 components. As we explored a bit more, we noticed that our ships were behaving differently. A cosmic phenomenon, taking the form of a pulsing second star in the unknown solar system was increasing our shield efficiency and scan resolution. This was nice considering Jin was flying a shield tanked Drake.

After a few minutes of tactfully taking on the sleepers we noticed some other, more familiar, ships on our directional scanner. We were not alone. A Sacrilege, an Incursus, and an Anathema appeared on scan, so we quickly made our way back to the safespot. We tried to contact the pilots of the ships through local, which appeared empty. We awaited a reply that showed they were friendly, but received nothing. After waiting for a few moments for our ships to recharge from the recent encounter with the sleepers, the Anathema uncloaked right next to us. Vackris quickly tackled it with his Ishkur, and due to the scan res bonus from the cosmic phenomenon, it was locked down almost instantly. Due to their lack of communication and the fact that it went out of it's way to scan down our safespot, we assumed it hostile and killed it. The other 2 pilots in that group had lost their ability to leave the wormhole system since we destroyed their explorer. We didn't see the other 2 ships on scan a few moments later.

One would assume that they just left through the wormhole, but upon further investigation, the wormhole we entered the system through had collapsed due to mass overload quite some time earlier. The corpses we scanned down were also clues to their cruel end. We were now in a bit of a bind. Vackris, Jin, and I are currently stuck in unknown space. The wormhole behind us has collapsed and we are hard pressed to find a way out before we go mad. Luckily Vackris and I brought the equipment necessary to scan down exploration sites (we didn't bring the know-how), and Aiden (our only explorer that knew what he was doing) is available to walk us through the process from known spaces. After finding many non-wormhole cosmic anomalies, we are hoping to find an exit wormhole soon. The crazy part of all this is, once we find another wormhole to escape this uncharted system, it might just lead into more unknown space.

day 2:

After a few hours of being stuck, Vackris and I finally got a handle on the new scanning system. Alas, it was too late, we had already gotten a severe case of SPACE MADNESS. Our conversations sounded a little like this. Just as I was starting to consider starting my own religion based around the cosmic phenomenon and maybe eating Jin, I had found it! A wormhole had appeared and I had found our way out! Oh rapture! I alerted Vackris and Jin and warped to the cosmic anomaly.

Out of habit I hit scan on my directional scanner to check if there were anyone new in system with us. The scanner showed someone new as I warped to the wormhole. An Omen was somewhere in this abysmal place, so I ran the usual drill and tried to flag him down in local. Once again, no response. Once I arrived at my cosmic anomaly, I had never been so happy to see a pulsing rip in space. I clicked the info to check the status of the wormhole and what I had dreaded came true. The wormhole led to yet another unknown system, the rabbit hole was about to get much deeper. =(

Once we gathered at the wormhole and were about to start the whole thing over again, I was contacted by someone named "Chang'r". It was the Omen pilot. After talking to him for a few moments he revealed that he had entered the system from highsec. GLEE! I talked for a bit more to try and smell out a trap, and eventually he won my trust as I issued the order to warp everyone to his location. He turned out to be on our side after all, as we saw the omen on our overviews with a wormhole right next to him. The wormhole's info showed that it lead to some unknown high security system. Jin jumped through first, and then myself and Vackris.

We were now free! Back in civilized space! Or was it? If you can call Amarrian highsec civilized! The Amarr navy was quickly on us as we aligned to the first gate towards Oursulaert. It was 18 jumps to our destination, 8 of which was Amarr highsec, including the system of Amarr and Sarum Prime. We saw 4 wartargets on the way through, 3 of which were industrials, we didn't take the time to attack, we just kept going. We were happy to be out of Amarrian highsec, but we noticed the Navy attack warning appear on our screens again. We had 8 more jumps of Caldari highsec to go through.

After much panic, we finally got home and docked in the first Gallente space station we saw. A federation station never looked so friendly after this whole mess. After a calm, Vackris spoke in chat:

Vackris: Same thing tonight?
Malen: Of course!
Jin: \o/

Also, earlier today I was cloaked near a wormhole in highsec. I was just checking the market, not really doing anything important. Suddenly an Abaddon jumps through the wormhole to my side. In local the pilot says "I HAVE BEEN STUCK IN THERE SINCE THIS PATCH WAS RELEASED! FINALLY I AM HOME!"

I congratulated him and he warped off. Very Happy

My lazy days continue as I casually probed down a wormhole. I decided to swap out of my covert ops for a disposable ship, a Probe, with cloak and prober.

I asked if anyone cared to join me. Intellectually, I knew that wormhole space was 0.0, but I didn't quite put it together until...

I warp in with some guy who did join me. We were there about 30 seconds when he says, 'wanna join a pvp fleet'. Ahhh sure, I race back and get a better ship. In about 2 minutes, I went from long time carebear to gate camping in no-sec. Normally, there is an application to a corp, moving your stuff, setting up ss and jb, and reading some intel on where you live. None of that. I was snatched (willingly) from carebear into finger on the trigger.

All sorts of questions popped up for me?

Is a wormhole the same as a jumpgate, if you agress you have to wait out the timer?

Should I stop my carebear skilling up and go back to pvp skills?

How do I have ships ready for the camp?

Isn't it easier for us to wait for someone else to do the sleeper killing and then us to kill them?

What about sucker bubbles?

Could I live in high sec and be a pvpper? What does this mean for all carebears and pvp?

Wife came home so I had to cruise, but I was certainly excited about the possibilities. Yea Apocrypha!

Im in space, probing out a wormhole and finally after much hours of slaving to find one, got a hit! I warped to it and found it lead into unknown space, much happiness was thrown around. When i showed info on the wormhole it turned out its stability had been compromised, i guessed people had been and went alredy.

I jumped into wormhole space and checked my directional scanner. I got a Hyper Ion on it. i jumped back through and got some combat probes, while informing my fleet that we needed somone with a big hard heavy dic. I got a heavy dic, a logi ship together and a stealth bomber (with me being the prober in a covops)

We jumped into system and i sent the heavy dic pilot through twice so the wormhole would collapse. It didnt collapse but it said it was critical, good enough for me. I probed out the Hyper Ion pilot after about 2 minutes, i warped cloaked onto him but he warped out as i got in.

I got back on the scanner and narrowed him down 2 minutes later, he was shooting sleepers. I gave my fleet the order to warp to me, decloak be damned . My fleet arrived on me seconds later and the heavy dic fired his bubble, the Hyper Ion had fallen for a TARP!

We started shooting the Hyper Ion and loled at the pilots cries of "help please dont do this" and "why" Soon after he popped we all recieved a hatemail telling us that he hoped our families would die in a fire.

Just as we were laughing at the Hyper Ion's pilots hatemail, we recieved another cry for help over our neocoms. It seems his corpmate jumped in and collapsed the wormhole in his hurry to save his friend. I launched some scanner probes and narrowed down the his ferox on scan. It warped off just as i had got a yellow dot.

Just then one of my fleet members started yelling over our comms "hes here 100km off me" i told our guy to warp off. I set up probes at the ferox' last known location at 0.25 AU i got a green dot. Screw the subtleties, i warped fleet on top of him, and helped the ferox pilot get back to hisec. I was lucky enough to get hold of his corpse and am happy to say i have had my way with it by now. Felt good man!

I fired up the probes and got a hit on a wormhole first time! What luck, we were only 8 jumps from our previous location.

Very HappyVery Happy

Scanned down a wormhole from empire and checked it out with a friend, killed some sleepers and it was pretty cool, got some salvage and then found out I couldn't get the Orca in so hunted another site. Second site found, got the Orca in and set up a POS to base from.

Finding it pretty fun so far but having some trouble finding the new wormhole as the old one closed, not a matter of not finding anything, just a matter of finding the wormhole amongst a bunch of signatures. Got a months worth of fuel and plans if things go wrong for whatever reason. Would love to hunt some other players but having a fun time just doing gas harvesting and combat sites for now Embarassed.

Nothing interesting I suppose but the whole point me going in and setting up base there was to see what can and cannot be done first hand, and how easy is it to do things there. Wont know if it is profitable or not until I get a haul of the goods back to empire.

1st wormhole adventure:

A mate and I in t1 fit myrm and a t1 fit harby, scanned down a wormhole then through. After a little to-ing and fro-ing from site to site, we settled for a gas cloud whilst we went searching for another site. An arazu uncloaked and killed my myrm MWD, but we started to engage. Seconds later a redeemer t2 BS shows up on scanner, so I tell my mate he may as well leg it. Redeemer drops out of warp right on top of me, so I orbit close and try to beat his tracking. A few cap boosters and many glancing blows later, my mate warps back in to lend a hand, since I was managing to stay in one piece. Arazu switches target to harby, so I activate mwd and help bring it down. We then carry on attacking the redeemer (after having taken full laser damage for a bit after killing the arazu), and were pretty chuffed to find several amarr navy mods in his wreck after he had turned down ransom.

In all honesty, we were grinning ear to ear for a fair while after that XD. It sure did look good on pandemic's killboard, I must say =P

Our alliance probed out a hole two jumps from our home that had a second bridge over to minmatar space. some enterprizing corp decided to setup a POS in there and we promptly scanned down their little mining op and popped both barges. An Astarte landed right as we wrapped up salvage and looting operations. we got the **** out. We pulled up a few more mates and hopped back in, with some more explosive ships. My alliance mate loses his BRAINS and decides to open his big stupid gab in ****ing local, and kindly informs our enemy of our location and that we're looking for fights, and 'hur hur's' in vent. They drop a sleeper PVE gang ontop of our BS, HAC, AF gang. WE lose the ishtar. All in all good, untill your alliance mates start smacking....

The 'high council' of my corp decided to try an extended POS based wormhole expedition when Apoc went live. Well I have been realy busy lately so barely managed to get my main into the w-hole and get to the POS before I had to take off so I haven't got to experience much, however yesterday when I was home on lunchbreak I had to log in to fix up my skill queue and as soon as I log in one of my corp members invites me to fleet and starts yelling at me to warp to him. I discovered while in warp that he had probed out some guy in a buzzard who thought he was going to explore our w-system. We think that he had no idea that we were not happy about strangers in our system so sat around while I was warping on him in an absolution. I had my lasers and web primed (pve fit lololol) and started spamming lock as I left warp and popped the buzzard in 2 volleys, then proceeded to make boastful trolling comments in local about facing the concequences of entering our corps claimed space. Thats my only w-space story, sort of weak really, but it was not bad for 15 minutes of random playtime which was initially intended just for setting up some skills to train Wink

TEARS ran a little operation yesterday, into w-space, through four systems, and back out. We took a little gang of about seven cruiser hulls in assorted flavors, and me playing Tail-end Charlie in a blockade runner with spare ammo and space for loot. We got two battlecruisers, two battleships, and two pods, in a pair of encounters, taking no losses and leaving nobody behind. It was enormous fun.

Took my uber-scanning alt around high-sec a bit. Found a WH and went in. There were 30+ anomaly/signature sites. Spent a couple hours in there scanning around to see what was there and got discoed. So the WH closed behind me before I got back in. Thought "no problem, I have plenty of probes I can just find another." Spend 8 hours the second day probing around trying to find a WH out. Found plenty of things, but not the WH. Logged out a bit frustrated.

Decided to try again today. Went in, scanned a bit more, found a few other sites that I BMed (so I knew to ignore them in future scans, hard to keep track of 25 (today's number) sites). Didn't see anything at the sites, thought it weird but didn't care because I just needed the BM, not the site. Figured it was because I warped at 100.

Finally, I found a WH and played around a bit until I got it at 100%. Warped to it.....nothing. Okay, must be a bug, filed a "stuck" petition. Waited a little bit and got a response. Told me the WHs were there, but I wasn't at them and that I needed to keep scanning. Well, obviously I wasn't at it, since I couldn't see it.... Asked why I'd have a 100% strength if it wasn't the right place.... Still haven't gotten an answer to that. But I did scan again, and got another 100%, so I warped to it (was about 200km off) and there was the wormhole.... Left back into high sec.

In the end....Well, it could have been worse. I didn't enjoy spending 10+ hours trying to find a WH out. Most of that time was time lost due to having to get high strength results across 30ish signatures to figure out which was even a WH. I think I got lucky that I found it today. It was in the middle of a cluster of 10 other signatures that I was trying to narrow down and I got it by chance.

Will I do it again? Probably not, unless I was fairly confident I could leave through the WH I came in on.

Rewards: Can't say much for rewards, since it was a high sec one I didn't expect much. The Grav sites I saw were veld, scord, plag, and pyrox. A couple sites had Gas clouds that probably would have been worth looking at if I had those skills. The anomalies were 2 bs/cruisers and 4 frigs or 1 bs and 2 bc from what I saw.

Going to do a short version of what would otherwise be a long story...

This happened aa few days ago while searching for wormholes in high sec empire, and having gone thru several systems, and not having found anything, until a particular system in high sec minmatar space....I was having a bit of trouble getting a precise location, and there was a friend of mine close by who decided to make a detour to my location and we had a bit of a race who would find it first....He beat me by about 2 minutes.

So here we were are right next to the wormhole, and it seems it really is about to expire any minute now and has had a fair amount of ships that have passed thru it...So he suggests we go thru to see what's on the other side as it leads to sleeper space, and i was in a heavily tanked scorpion while he was in a recon frigate, both had probes,so i went in first, and the wormhole collapsed then and there leaving my freind in high sec space and me in sleeper space.

So while he was still laughing his ass off,i decided to make the best of it and scanned the system down to see what's in it.....Turns out there's 8 sleeper complexes and the spawns are sleeper battleships, groups of 4 battleships,at least the first spawns are like that....So i decided to do a little test to see just how much damage can 4 sleeper battleships do,and placed myself at 150kms from the spawn, while still cloaked of course, and uncloaked then and there...Suffice to say that within 10 secs, and just taking 3 volleys from that battleship spawn,my shields dropped 9000HP...At 150kms.

This is a shield tank with 80% resists across the board,so it's amazing that they hit that hard, from that distance and that my resists are supposed to deflect 4/5th's of that damage....Imagine if i had no resistsShocked....So farming these suckers wasn't an option quite obviously and i started scanning for a way out, which presented it's own set of problems given the amount of cosmic signatures that any one of them could potentially be a way out,but i found a way to shorten the list considerably by using more than 1 type of probe, and found a way out within an hour.

Turns out is was high sec Amarr space and they donn't particularly like me in their territory, and my home system was over 20 jumps away, but i eventually got back home by my own means, and in one piece....I had so much fun doing it,that i'm planning my own personal expedition in the next few weeks, for a 45 day stay in wormhole space, using my own POS and enough fuel to run it for the duration....Made all the necessary calculations over the past 2 days, and it's doable.

Last night I scanned down a wormhole in my home-system in high-sec. After making a quick check on the inside with my covert ops I decided to continue my wormhole exploration in a more sturdy ship. Quickly returned to k-space and docked up, only problem that most Amarr ships are a poor choice for solo-exploring. After some thought I dusted off my old Pilgrim and after fitting her accordingly went back in.

First I probed down a couple combat locations, but only took a look at them from a distance since I didn't want to try my luck in a recon. Then I found a Ladar site. Warping to it I got to close and was de-cloaked by the cloud. But the 4 Sleeper frigates and 1 cruiser guarding it was easily dispatched by my drones and lone neutralizer. I got my first sleeper salvage :D

Spurred by this I continued. After a hour of finding largely uninteresting stuff I found another wormhole, leading me to a new w-system. One that was of serene beauty: It had one large yellow sun and one smaller blue.

I begun probing anew. After 20 minutes I discovered on scan that I wasn't alone. Someone else was already there, in a Thorax. Having found nothing of interest except a lot more combat locations or belts with crappy ore I decided to go find the stranger. It wasn't that easy since I wasn't fitted for probing for ships, but instead had to use the inboard scanner. To make it worse he was not at a planet but in a location between 2.

After twenty minutes he moved beyond the scanner range. I warped around and found him again now sitting at the furthest planet of the system. Landing 50km from I started slow boating.

When I was only 4km from I stopped, still holding cloak. Now I could had de-cloaked and attacked, making my first kill in wormhole space. Instead I opened a convo:

Kel Dario > hello
Bruges Trippel > hi m8
Kel Dario > how are you?
Bruges Trippel > thi u Kas?
Bruges Trippel > *this
Kel Dario > how are you in wh-space?
Bruges Trippel > doin fine at minute :)
Kel Dario > this is my second system
Kel Dario > I saw you on scan
Kel Dario > then I located you
Bruges Trippel > can't see u in local?

We continued talking for another 10 minuts. It turned out he had entered W-space from a system in Aridia and I told him from where I was. I also told him what ship I was flying and how close I got.

Bruges Trippel > :) well thanks for not poddin me

We chatted a little more. By now I wanted to get back home, so I dropped a copy of my wormhole bm at first planet for him to pick up so he could explore it as well, then I returned to the first w-system and from there back to k-space.

So ends my little adventure in w-space. It was fun and I will soon do it again.

I spent the first day or so flying around scanning down wormholes in k-space, getting use to it in a cruiser, once I had a taste of Sleepers, I decided on the second day to get my old Geddon, and I've been flying that ever sense.

Good fun, much more interesting compared to missions, it's just a pity the rewards seem to be so poor.

I tried to solo a radar site in a "dangerous" wormhole- initial spawn was tough but I managed to whittle it down, just as the last cruiser pops, 5 more spawn along with 3 BS Crying or Very sad

I high tail it out of there in structure, looking loningly at all the un-opened sleeper cans & my un-looted sleeper wrecks. I sat at a SS for a while recovering & debating whether to try going back to the site. I'm picking up lots of ships on scanner now so I decide to call it a day and head back to empire- just as I'm entering into warp, an interceptor lands 15km from me and I thank my lucky stars as my big fat Domi lurches into warp.

Next day I log on and, out of curiosity, check to see if the wormhole is still there- it is and it's saying that it still has plenty of mass/time. Hoping against hope, I buy a punisher from the local market, chuck a MWD, codebreaker & some istabs on it and headed into the wormhole again. Warping to the radar site, my hope is realised when I find that the site is still present but devoid of sleepers- the gang on the previous day had been strong enough to kill the sleepers but did they have a codebreaker in the squad?

I approach the cans in my paper thin punisher- heart pounding at the thought of finding a T3 BPC or getting WTFBBQd by a fresh sleeper spawn- can 1, nothing... can 2, nothing... can 3, nothing... dammit, they must have brought a codebreaker- last can... "Wrecked Weapon Subroutine"! \o/

The item sold for 75mil yesterday in Essence, despite the going price in Jita being 20mil... ninja codebreaking in punishers FTW! Very Happy

I hop on my Magnate, get a core launcher and a handful of probes...after picking up the last piece of the fit i decide to undock and scan the system right there

i get a hit and spend half an hour narrowing it down with this being my first time with the new scanning interface

i get the hang of it and get a green warp to and o yay, w-hole ^^

go on thru and drop a 32AU probe at the sun and find the huge number of sig iv heard about

there is one nomly tho so i warp to it being not interested in getting more probe practice

as i align i get a sleeper pop-up info thingy so i think: "ooo my first sleepers" (i had no weapons mounted but i still wanted to see ^^)

i get there, move camera to look at a turret battery and then i et a eve mail....."hmmm i wonder who it is and what they want......BOOM.....o"

i pod around seeing if there was anything interesting at the planets and such and when i get bored i warp back to the hole i came thru and go back to k-space

i smile, thoroughly satisfied with my first w-space expirience ^^
