I know I'm gonna get flamed for sharing account info and all that, but I also know that a mistake made by the owner of something, anything, does not justify theft.

An year ago, I met a person, an EVE online player called Boschete Moshu. He enticed me to play EVE and gave me an account, with a character called Silence iKillYouu on it. At the time he said I can have the account for free, for it to be mine. I changed the password, details and e-mail on the account.

After I payed for it's training for 6 months or so, and invested some cash into it (+4 implants, assets, etc.) I was forced by circumstances regarding RL to discontinue playing EVE online for a while.

Two months have passed and I receive a call from this person asking me, as a favor, to allow him to use the account so he could gank someone without disclosing his real identity. I gave him the password without suspecting any foul play.

After another month, since I managed to clear some of the RL obstacles preventing me from playing the game, I try to log in to the account management page to pay the subscription and get started again. Ofc, the password was changed, and upon trying to reset the password via e-mail, I get an error message.

Upon confronting Boschete Moshu with the facts, he mentions selling the account because he, and I quote, "direly" needed money. Baffled by this betrayal of trust I check the character trading forum and find nothing in regard to a legitimate sale of the character. He then admits that he sold the account in it's entirety for RL cash, saying that he only "lended" the account to me, as he never intended for me to have it, and threatening to physically injure me for the "audacity" to demand explanations from him.

Needless to say that I kept logs of these threats and I am considering pressing charges, as in Romanian criminal law threatening an individual or his family with physical harm or any other criminal actions is punishable with 3 months to 1 year imprisonment.

The bottom line here, is that he used this scheme to train the character and acquire assets using someone else's money and then conning him/her into handing him the account, at which point he would sell it.

I'm not looking for sympathy or anything of the sort, I'm just publishing this unhappy turn of events so that other people, should they encounter this individual, could know the truth and not trust this person.

the big problem you have there is that is was his account in the first place, so in the eyes of CCP it was still his.

sorry u wasted so much time and effort, and shame on him for selling it for RL money, but other than reporting it to ccp (the alt sold, and his main) in attempt tp make him pay for hurting u and breaking the TC's there is not much you can do other than starting over :(

Giving, selling, taking or buying an account is against EULA and is bannable offence...

Fixed, but either way they're right. If it was his account and you didn't buy it, it's still his. On the other hand, and this depends on your country ofc, if he is threatening physical harm, no matter what medium is used, he's breaking the law. At least in uk anyway Rolling Eyes

I suppose it comes down to how p-ed off you are.

What part of you thought it would be a good idea to post this? There's like 5 different breaches of the EULA here. CCP put those rules in for a reason, it prevents headaches like the above. You're out of luck, and should never have accepted the account, given him the password when he asked for it, told us he sold the account, or basically trusted anyone in the situation.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you by CCP. You have the right to have someone with an I.Q. over 30 present during forum posting. If you cannot afford intelligent friends, one will be appointed for you. If you are not smart enough not to confess, you will be podded. Do you understand these rights?

I believe I received enough punishment as it is. 2 years of training lost is a harsh enough punishment. I accepted the account since I haven t even seen how eve looks, let alone read the EULA and TOS. Upon accepting it and paying the subscription enthusiastically just after seeing some videos online of pvp, and the reassurance that this is the ”best” way, since starting a new character would take ages to get to a decent level.

All of this has been performed for me by the above mentioned individual, to ”speed up” the process.

I posted this here to serve as a warning for some and reminder for others to not get involved in similar schemes or any of the sort. I m not looking for retribution, or comfort.

Anyone can go ahead and flame me but keep in mind that when I got myself into this, the game wasn t even installed on my box.

I wish I could make up my own EULA too.
