I've noticed pretty huge downfall of spawns in 0.0 space. My income from ratting gone drasticaly down ( like in half or so ). Spawns are much weaker and more occasional than before. Have anyone noticed this too? Or it's just really a coincidence on my side ? |

Wait a bit until you change belts. Rats now warp in after some time instead of just sitting around. |

There's a devblog by CCP Ytterbium, When Evolution Leaps Forward, that says that rats are being rebalanced in Apocrypha - that lowsec will get battleships, and that the overall rewards from ratting will remain the same - "we plan to even out rewards, not destabilize them further". I concluded that nullsec rats would therefore be degraded in some way - whether that be in spawn frequency, or in spawn value, or in loot table changes is left as an exercise for the ratter. |

Could you rat in a T1 cruiser....yes. Succesfully.....not likely. 0.0 rats tend to come with 2 BS and a couple cruisers and a few frigs as standard fare. Somtimes more, somtimes less. If you find a few spawns with just frigs or cruisers you might stand a chance with a MWD fitted. But I wouldn't try it. |

Go for a BC, t2 cruiser. That is about it and to make it worth while you should be able to fit t2 to the ship too. |

Maybe in droneboat(vexor). You would have to speed tank the battleships and have really good drone skills. The trick is getting enough DPS to break their tanks. At minimum 150 DPS to kill the BSes. I dont know about other 0.0s but angel belt rats are relatively light on damage even for the decent bounty( over 900k) BSes. I can easily tank in drake with a very light tank. |

I've ratted successfully in my Caracal in -1.0 space. The companion frigs/cruisers/BCs go down really fast, so all you have to worry about are the BSs. Get in close and fast and they can't hit you. It takes a while to kill them with lights, but I've done it. Clearly a BC would be a better choice, but it's doable in a cruiser with good skills. |

Yes, 0.0 Rats are easily taken down in the right cruiser with the right setup. Of course some are better than others.
I would say that for Guristas you cannot beat the Thorax, Just remember with a T1 cruiser you will not be able to omnitank very well, rely on tanking JUST the two primary damage types of the rats and go fast to avoid the missiles from the cruisers, battlecruisers and battleships.
Other T1 cruisers I have done it in sucsesfully are....
Rupture Caracal Vexor Stabber Maller Omen
All good but remember, use the damagetype best for the rats your killing. e.g - Lasers are poop vs. Guristas |

Didn't have a look at their bounties any further, but I saw 1.4m battleships spawn in systems, where only 1.25m spawns should appear... Didn't rat yet, so still need to figure it out exactly. |

I went around ratting serps in an incursus for a while, that was great fun lol, took a while to take down double BS spawns but by far the hardest spawns were T2 cruiser spawns. |

Used to rat in Providence with an Arbitrator. Was sometimes painfully slow, but do-able. have a few more drones skills now, so might give it another shot. |

so I'm used to seeing at max 950k bs and saw a few 1.1 bs and got excited, and a dread spawn in my first round (ammo and tag).... the rats overall blow fat chunks of *insert not very nice things here* just did 26ish mil over the last 3 hours, 12.5 of that was in the first hour. Confused I would rather go run empire level 4s.... |

You guys also noticed that all BS spawns tend to run away when you enter the belt? Tried this with a marauder + fighters, so maybe they won't run for a t1 cruiser.
By running away I mean MWD'ing way from you at 3000m/s up to over 100km distance. It where drones in this case. |

Yea, its weird when the BS MWD a mile away from you. Also feels like they are mixing up the spawns with more non BS ships that cost more than what they were before and lowering the overall amount of BS spawns (nerf). And some rats (don't remember seeing before) seem to hit me harder like trip 1.4s (think they are new), like hit me harder over trip 1.85s. Maybe some people don't notice as they over tank their ships but mines always bare minimum with rest dedicated to DPS. Either that or the rats are tougher to kill and it is longer so it may feel like my tank is failing before they die. |

Since we added battleships in low-sec, some spawns were tweaked up in 0.0 to balance everything out smoothly. There were no decrease in battleship spawn quantity or quality in 0.0 with Apocrypha, at least not that I am aware of.
As somebody already mentionned it here, NPCs now warp in instead of just spawning out of a magic hat, so you may have to wait for a few seconds for them to arrive in a belt. |

I noticed that ratting is less efficient last night too.
I found that I had to wait upwards of 10 secs in each belt before warping to the next in case a spawn warped in. This reduced my ratting efficiency quite a lot (guesstimate about a 20% overall isk/hour nerf), because you waste so much time in belts where nothing spawns in. Trawling through each belt is much more of hassle.
Overall I love the rats warping in, it really improves the immersion compared to *pop* appearing NPCs. However the mechanic is a nerf to ratting, is there any way that CCP can modify the spawning of NPC's so that it's not triggered only when arriving on grid? |

I just did some ratting in 0.0, decent sec drone system.
After finding a pair of frigs in a belt i waited for some accompaniment to spawn but nothing for over a minute. i popped a frig and still nothing, popped the second and instantly 3 bs warped in. I killed 2 but the second i was unable to lock because it was stuck in warp, bumping all around the belt.
Definatly a pretty largeish nerf to the efficiency of ratting in 0.0 and overall i was left largely unimpressed.

What? Does this ratting nerf mean my income from mining will increase. Less loot from those who mine with lasers means less mins on the market.
Good time to be a care bearing miner then I would say.
Although I did notice that when I warped in a belt it did take longer for the rocks to warp in. A killed a Merc rock and his three uber tough Arkonor buddies just sat there and did nothing to help. |

I'm seeing BS sized rogue drones get stuck in warp as well. They aren't going any faster most of the time but you can't target them either. I've had friends warp in to see if it was just me but they have been unable to target the stuck drones also. |

There is quite much variance within the spawns, so might well be bad luck. It is hard to tell, especially with forums (folks noticing disparancies are more eager to post than those having normal day; and human brain is tuned to see patterns even when there isn't such). Slowly collecting stats to compare with my[ url="http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=997562&page=1#1"]pre-M10 0.0 belt NPC statistics[/url]; so far looks similar within the error marginal (with ca. 100 spawns noticed -9% drop, but the error margin is around 15% for set this small). NPCs warping indeed slightly decrease hourly profit. Before if you killed 10 spawns in an hour you got 15M from bounties alone. Now the same takes 10s*10*2 = 400s longer -> about 10% decrease in profits (assuming 10s average delay due warpin, and that 50% of belts has rats). At least warpin effect seems to tell you whether someone been in the belt before you or not, which has benefits in some cases. -Lasse |
